As a die-hard Jujutsu Kaisen fan who’s been following this masterpiece since its inception, I can confidently say that the animation team has truly outdone themselves with each new season. Souta Yamazaki’s work on Season 2, particularly his hand in episodes 5, 12, 16, and 20 through 23, was nothing short of breathtaking. His New Year illustration featuring Sukuna and Yuji was a perfect teaser for what’s to come in the anime.
With the manga having concluded in September 2024, we’re left craving more of this incredible story. The second season adapted Gojo’s Past and the Shibuya Incident Arcs, leaving us on the edge of our seats. Now, as we eagerly await Season 3, the key visual revealed during Jump Festa 2025 has only fueled our anticipation further.
If the anime follows the manga’s storyline, we can expect to see the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident in the upcoming season, including Yuta Okkotsu’s plans to take revenge on Yuji for Toge Inumaki’s injury and the Culling Game Arc. The battle royale orchestrated by Kenjaku will introduce a host of new characters and test the mettle of our beloved protagonists.
The Culling Game is a pivotal point in the series, setting the stage for the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. I can’t wait to see what Sukuna has planned for Megumi Fushiguro and how Gojo’s students will try to free their sensei from his predicament.
On a lighter note, with all this excitement brewing, I can’t help but wonder if they’ll ever find time to take a break and catch their breath! Maybe they should consider adding a “Cursed Energy Refreshment” scene in the anime – who knows, it might just become my favorite part!
The animated adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen is highly acclaimed for its outstanding animation, largely due to the multitude of skilled professionals working on it. Chief Animation Director Souta Yamazaki has been instrumental in the series, particularly during Season 2. In Season 2 alone, he served as the Chief Animation Director for seven episodes, specifically episodes 5, 12, 16, and 20 through 23. Beyond his direct work on the anime, Yamazaki has also interacted with the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase through his impressive artwork. For instance, he produced an illustration of Sukuna and Yuji to commemorate the New Year.
The animator posts a caption saying “Happy New Year Illustration”, featuring an image. In this depiction, Sukuna appears in his Heian Era form, recreating the intense fight scenes from the Shinjuku Showdown Arc – a significant part of the JJK story with some of its most thrilling battle sequences. One particularly memorable moment is when Yuji squares off against the King of Curses. Though the manga concluded in September 2024, the final volumes, numbers 29 and 30, were released on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2024. Despite the conclusion of the main storyline, fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming anime adaptation.

What’s Next in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Anime?
As a long-time fan of manga and anime, I eagerly anticipate the next season of “Jujutsu Kaisen.” Having closely followed the manga since its debut, I can confidently say that the storyline is gripping and the characters are well-developed. The second season, which aired in 2023, left me on the edge of my seat with its adaptation of Gojo’s Past and Shibuya Incident Arcs.
However, I have been waiting patiently for news about Season 3, as it has yet to reveal a release date or a teaser promo. My excitement reached new heights during Jump Festa 2025 when a stunning key visual was unveiled, hinting at what’s to come.
If the series stays true to the manga, we can expect it to adapt Itadori’s Extermination, Perfect Preparation, and the Culling Game Arc before delving into the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. This means we will witness the consequences of Yuta Okkotsu’s plans to take revenge on Yuji for injuring Toge Inumaki and obeying the elders’ orders. The tension between these two characters will undoubtedly intensify, as Yuta also harbors deep-seated anger towards Yuji.
I can hardly contain my excitement for what lies ahead in “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3. As a fan of the series, I believe that its unique blend of action, humor, and compelling storytelling will continue to captivate audiences and cement its place as one of the best anime of our time. I eagerly await the release date and can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!
In summary: Gojo has been branded a traitor, making anyone attempting to aid him an adversary within the Jujutsu world. Yet, this won’t deter Gojo’s pupils from trying to assist their master. The Culling Game is a brutal competition controlled by Kenjaku, an ancient curse user who has taken over Geto’s body. The upcoming season of JJK will introduce a host of thrilling new characters. Additionally, we will uncover Sukuna’s intentions towards Megumi Fushiguro. The Culling Game marks the second final arc of the series, and following it will be the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
