Coronation Street casts ex-Hollyoaks star for Lauren prison scenes

Fans of soap operas will soon witness a familiar face transitioning from Channel 4 to ITV, as the long-running series Coronation Street has recruited former Hollyoaks actress Jessica Ellis.

Previously portraying Tegan Lomax on Hollyoaks from 2013 to 2018, Ellis will make her appearance on Coronation Street, taking on the role of Brie, a character who finds herself in prison alongside Cait Fitton’s character, Lauren.

Initially, The Sun announced that Ellis will likely appear on Coronation Street for just a handful of episodes in a temporary role.

Ellis departed from Hollyoaks following the demise of her character; she was trapped under a fallen tree branch during a severe storm.

In the television series “Coronation Street,” it’s been revealed that Lauren is now standing trial for the killing of Joel Deering. It’s also been hinted that while in prison, Brie will provoke Lauren, asserting that baby Frankie would thrive more without her care.

Recently, there have been several exits announced among the main cast members, with both prominent actors – Helen Worth, who plays Gail Platt, and Luca Toolan, who portrays Mason Radcliffe – having already bid farewell.

Audience eagerly anticipate the developments as to how the characters played by Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster), and Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley) will exit the soap opera.

The latest departure we’ve heard about belongs to Jordan, who expressed his gratitude for the time spent on Coronation Street, stating that it’s an experience he will forever hold dear. He considers it a privilege to have been associated with such a distinguished establishment and remarkable coworkers who have imparted invaluable lessons to him.

Daisy has had a fantastic run for the past four years, now I’m ready to embark on a fresh journey and discover different possibilities.
