JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Composer Hints At Possible Steel Ball Run Reveal

It’s been more than two years since “Stone Ocean,” the final episodes of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” were aired, leaving an indelible mark on the anime world. Creator Hirohiko Araki seized this opportunity to leap from Jolyne Cujoh’s contemporary era into the late 1800s, envisioning a vibrant new setting teeming with thrilling Stand battles. The “Steel Ball Run” is widely regarded as one of the best storylines in the history of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” so it’s no surprise that many fans are eagerly awaiting updates about Johnny Joestar’s tale. Fortunately, a veteran composer for the series may have given us a hint about the arrival of “Steel Ball Run.

In 2004, the story of Steel Ball Run was introduced and continued until it concluded in 2011. Unlike previous tales featuring a vampire aiming to conquer the world, an Italian mafia boss maintaining his power, or a vengeful priest with a prison-based plot, this installment follows Johnny’s journey through a grueling cross-country horse race across America. The winner of this race will have their deepest desires fulfilled, as the main Joestar character strives to regain the ability to walk again. Alongside variations of well-known characters from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the Stand fights in this series are among the most memorable in the franchise.

The Steel Ball Run Has Appeared in Motion Before

Although Johnny Joestar and his racing companions haven’t officially appeared in an anime, they got their moment to shine through the video game called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven. This game was like a grand finale for the series as it gathered all the Joestars from various time periods to battle against the powerful Dio Brando. The game, produced by Bandai Namco, gave these characters a voice, and you might find it intriguing to learn who the actors were that brought them to life.

Johnny’s character in the series was lent voice by Yuki Kaji, who is recognized by anime enthusiasts for his roles as Shoto from “My Hero Academia”, Meliodas from “The Seven Deadly Sins”, and Eren Jaeger from “Attack on Titan”. Similarly, Shinichiro Miko voiced Gyro Zeppeli in the JoJo series. He is also known for his performances as Zamasu in “Dragon Ball Super”, Urahara in “Bleach”, and Team Rocket’s James in “Pokemon”. Although these voice actors haven’t been confirmed to be a part of a Steel Ball Run anime, their extensive experience makes them well-equipped for bringing the Joestar characters to life.
