Nvidia didn’t reveal any new gaming hardware today, but fans with RTX 40 or 50 series cards will be pleased to know that Resident Evil Requiem will support Multi Frame Generation and Path Tracing from the start. A new trailer showcases the game’s impressive ray tracing features, including shadows, ambient occlusion, and reflections.
Although many scenes feel familiar, a couple are particularly interesting, such as the street beneath the subway and the pharmacy. These areas, with their distinct lighting and reflections, might give us a preview of places players will visit. The recently shown character, Leon, is expected to explore much bigger areas than other characters, and we see him walking down this same street, interacting with several people.
With DLSS 4’s Multi Frame Generation, the game can achieve between 200 and 300+ frames per second, even with Path Tracing turned on. However, it’s hard to say how well this will work overall because we don’t know what other graphics settings were used.
The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, comes out on February 27th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. We’ll get a more detailed look at the game from Capcom early this year, but unfortunately, there won’t be a demo available – the developers are currently working hard to finish the game.
