In the work titled “Out There,” originating from Clunes’ past partnerships on Manhunt with collaborators Ed Whitmore and Marc Evans, revolves around a farmer named Nathan. As he uncovers that his son Johnny is entangled in county lines drug trafficking, Nathan must take action to safeguard him.

During an interview at a Q&A for Out There, Clunes was questioned if the series was intentionally set against his past projects, to which he replied, “Not exactly, it’s simply the next project. I’ve never truly had a plan.
Besides Doc Martin, I’ve often worked on both factual and dramatic projects, most of which were penned by Ed. However, I didn’t deliberately plan it, did I? I don’t believe that was a conscious decision.
