It seems that despite widespread ownership, many console users remain unaware of some of the smaller, yet beneficial features these systems possess. The reasons for this are not entirely clear, but it’s evident that this is indeed the case.
A recent instance of this was found on the Xbox subreddit. One of the most upvoted posts on this platform is from a user showcasing a console feature they’ve just discovered. The high number of upvotes and the majority of comments suggest that many Xbox Series X and S owners, including those active on the Xbox subreddit, are unaware of this feature. Given that the hardcore Xbox fans, who make up a significant portion of the subreddit, aren’t aware either, it’s likely that most casual Xbox users are also in the dark about it.
Xbox users might find it interesting to know they can quickly put their console into idle mode by pressing and holding the Xbox button followed by an “X”. This feature proves handy in various situations like when waiting for updates to download or if you need to take a break without having the screen at full brightness. Notably, this trick works on different versions of the Xbox One consoles too.
