An unremembered game for the Xbox 360 console is rumored to make a comeback, available on Xbox Game Pass. This particular Xbox 360 game dates back to 2010, a time when gamers were spoiled with releases like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, God of War III, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Halo Reach, Fallout: New Vegas, Bayonetta, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and numerous others. While not all of these games were available on the Xbox 360, many of them were.
These popular games from 2010, including the ones that have captured everyone’s attention, haven’t been overlooked. However, one title that seems to have slipped under the radar is Singularity, developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. Interestingly, Raven Software now focuses solely on Call of Duty, particularly Warzone, while Activision was later acquired by Xbox. In essence, Xbox currently holds the rights to Singularity. Despite Activision showing little interest or plans for the first-person shooter combined with survival horror game, it appears that Xbox might be considering a revival.
Based on information from a source known as eXtas1s who is an Xbox insider, there are plans for Microsoft to add Singularity and some classic Call of Duty games to the Xbox Game Pass library around May this year. The specific platform for these releases – whether it’s the PC or console version, or possibly both – has not yet been specified.
While you should still approach this data with some skepticism, keep in mind that the source has been trustworthy when it comes to Xbox Game Pass news. In fact, it leaked that UFC 5 and Diablo (the original) were joining Xbox Game Pass this month, even before they were officially included in a larger list of upcoming games.
Originally released as a standalone game without any follow-ups, Singularity was launched on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms and received a moderate response, with a Metacritic score of 76. While this isn’t a groundbreaking achievement, it’s not a flop either. The game didn’t set the world alight in terms of commercial success. Whether there will be renewed interest in it by 2025 remains to be seen. If accurate, we should find out soon whether this game still has potential.
