Is it possible that Apple TV+ could soon release another season or spin-off of the popular series “Ted Lasso“? There’s been ongoing talk about continuing the story of “Ted Lasso” ever since the series ended with Season 3. The finale of the Emmy-winning show left many threads open, particularly for the Richmond football club and its main characters. This week, one of the show’s actors hinted that filming for Season 4 could start very soon.
Nick Mohammed, the actor who portrayed Nathan Shelley in all three seasons of “Ted Lasso,” shared that some dates for his upcoming live performance tour (“Mr. Swallow: Show Pony”) have been adjusted. He released a video on social media, speaking in character as Mr. Swallow, to inform fans about the updated tour dates or refund options. The update doesn’t concern “Ted Lasso,” but there’s a hint about the show’s future in his explanation for rescheduling those particular tour dates.
When Mohammed mentions having to reschedule some tour dates due to filming, he explains that the project he’s involved with is confidential and he doesn’t want to stir up excitement among fans by revealing too much. However, he seems to be inadvertently fueling speculation with the prop he’s holding while discussing his secret endeavor.
Throughout the entire video, Mohammed keeps papers in his hand. However, when discussing the project he’ll be filming, he purposefully lifts his hand to unveil what was hidden behind those papers: a reproduction of the famous “BELIEVE” sign from Ted Lasso.
Mohammed seems absolutely sure about his actions, making it plausible that this video falls into one of two categories: Either it’s a fun-filled moment for him to interact with Ted Lasso fans (which could very well be the case), or else he might be shooting additional scenes for Ted Lasso in the not so distant future.
Mohammed’s initial tour dates fall at the beginning, primarily during the first week or so of May. Since these dates are being moved potentially because of a Ted Lasso filming schedule, it indicates that the show may be filmed sometime in the spring.
As of now, there’s no formal announcement regarding a sequel for “Ted Lasso,” but toward the end of 2024, there was a significant increase in speculation when contracts for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift, key cast members, were all renewed for another season.
