Bling and Balls: Melania and Ivanka Trump's Iconic Inaugural Fashion 2025

Inauguration Day was full of fashionable moments.

On January 20th at the U.S. Capitol, attendees stayed warm as they watched Donald Trump and JD Vance being sworn in as the 47th President and 50th Vice President respectively. Some outfits particularly caught people’s attention, especially those worn by Melania Trump, the First Lady, and Ivanka Trump, his daughter. However, it was at the inaugural balls where fashion truly stole the show.

As a dedicated follower, I had the privilege of being part of the grand spectacle that was President Trump’s second inauguration on January 19th. The evening began with a breathtaking fireworks display at Trump National Sterling, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. This was followed by the captivating performance of Carrie Underwood at the ceremony itself. The highlight of the night came with the conclusion of three inaugural balls: the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball.

At multiple occasions, the president, his wife, Vance (who is also known as Usha Vance), and his wife, participated. They officially began the festivities at the Commander-in-Chief Ball that took place on January 20th.

In the evening, Melania Trump, the First Lady, made a fashionable statement by wearing a striking white column dress adorned with a chic black ribbon pattern.

On her side, Usha graced the Commander-in-Chief Ball in a stunning navy blue gown adorned with sequins, accompanied by the V.P., who held hands with her as they entered the festivities together.

Not only were there stylish displays, but the evening also showcased musical performances by Jason Aldean, The Village People, Rascal Flatts, Parker McCollum, and Gavin DeGraw.

Traditionally, inaugural balls have been a significant part of the festivities on such occasions, dating back to 1789 when they were first held following the inauguration of George Washington, as reported by the White House Historical Association.

The count of official inaugural celebrations can fluctuate from year to year. Typically, they take place on Inauguration Day night. Interestingly, the record for the most balls was set during the second inauguration of Bill Clinton in 1997, with a total of 14 as reported by Tatler.
