In the progression of “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” director Hideo Kojima revealed via a post on social media site X that actress Shioli Kutsuna has completed the necessary filming, scanning, and acting for the forthcoming video game.
In a recent post on X, Kojima expressed his gratitude towards Kutsuna with an adorable video that showcased her contributions to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Notably, part of Kutsuna’s role in the game involved undergoing a 3D scan for her performance capture.
Shioli Kutsuna has completed her work, according to Kojima. Thank you so much for your dedication! Even with the difficulties posed by the pandemic, she managed 3D scanning, performance capture in Los Angeles, and both English and Japanese voice recording across multiple locations. Wonderful job, and we truly appreciate it!
Kojima’s gratitude towards Kutsuna during the pandemic suggests that Kutsuna had been involved with the production of the Death Stranding sequel for a considerable amount of time, and it seems that she has recently wrapped up her work for the game, which implies that the project is currently under intense development.
In the latest update, it’s been announced that Kutsuna has completed her role in “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”, joining Kikuko Inoue and Yasuyuki Kase who have already finished their parts as well. Hideo Kojima also shared that these two talented actors received bouquets for their performances.
The announcement was made following a recent post by Kojima, where he mentioned that his studio, Kojima Productions, had entered the intense phase of development for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. In this post, Kojima discussed their all-out effort during what he referred to as the toughest period in game development.
In the game, Kutsuna is joined by a number of other talented actors, such as Shion Wakayama portraying Tomorrow, Mutsiru Miyamoto taking on the role of Tarman, and Tomokazu Sugita playing Dollman – all of whom are Japanese.
In September, Kojima revealed the Japanese voice actors for the game. Among them are Satoshi Mikami playing Higgs, Nana Mizuki as Fragile, and Kenjiro Tsuda portraying the main character, Sam Porter Bridges.
Although Kojima has discussed the game’s development extensively, he hasn’t shared much about what we can anticipate from the upcoming release. The limited information available includes the revelation that a Dollman-centered event with dancing will be included, and there will also be a recap of the original Death Stranding to help players understand the series’ bizarre narrative.

The sequel, Death Stranding 2: Beachside Odyssey, doesn’t currently have a confirmed launch date, but it is anticipated to be available later in the year exclusively on PlayStation 5.
