Players of Mortal Kombat 1 appear to have figured out a way to confront the elusive secret character Floyd, a formidable opponent. A self-proclaimed “Floyd tracker”, TheThiny, shared a video on social media platform X showcasing a battle against Floyd.
As stated by TheThiny, you can engage in a fight with Floyd by consistently finishing Floyd’s challenges within the game mode known as Tower in Mortal Kombat 1. A video shared by TheThiny appears to have been recorded by another player who successfully initiated a battle against Floyd.
In the data mining community for Mortal Kombat 1, TheThiny has been quite involved and recently made public a comprehensive document detailing the tasks players must accomplish to initiate a fight against Floyd. These tasks span from winning matches without receiving a single hit as specific characters, to victories achieved solely through non-throwing attacks.
Although numerous players have managed to face off against Floyd, much about his character remains enveloped in mystery. Players are currently attempting to decipher Floyd’s fighting style, which appears to be versatile and expansive. Notably, Floyd employs a variety of elemental attacks, such as lightning and fire. Overcoming Floyd for the first time also offers an additional incentive: unlocking a new stage.
Prior to the Mortal Kombat 1 community identifying Floyd, Ed Boon had been hinting at the character throughout this month. Boon used X as a platform to share lyrics from Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb, implying these words were part of a “ninja code.” Additionally, evidence suggesting Floyd’s presence in Mortal Kombat 1 was found, adding more weight to the character being integrated into the game.
Earlier in the week, Boon disclosed that Mortal Kombat 1 had achieved significant success, selling over 5 million units. Furthermore, it ranked among the top 15 most-played games on the PS5.
Lately, it’s been announced that Conan the Barbarian will be joining the cast of Mortal Kombat 1 in a DLC set for release on January 28. NetherRealm Studios has unveiled a trailer demonstrating Conan’s moveset, living up to its reputation for brutality. The upcoming content roadmap for Mortal Kombat 1 also includes the addition of T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day to the game.
Reports dating back to November suggest that the arrival of T-1000 could signal the conclusion of additional content updates for Mortal Kombat 1. These rumors hint at the cancellation of various content additions, such as an expansion of the game’s storyline and a Kombat Pack.
After its debut, “Mortal Kombat 1” has experienced one story update and two Kombat Packs, each introducing numerous new characters to the game. However, the developers have yet to confirm if the game will receive additional post-launch support once the current series of releases concludes.
