Resident Evil 9 Reports of Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy and a Hospital Level Are False – Rumour

Speculation abounds regarding the future direction of the Resident Evil series, with whispers circulating about potential plans from developers Capcom. The upcoming installment in the franchise is thought to possibly be Resident Evil 9.

Based on recent whispers from gaming insider AestheticGamer, it seems that Jill Valentine may not play a significant part in Resident Evil 9. Moreover, he dismisses rumors about a hospital setting for this game as unfounded. Furthermore, he hints that most of the speculations circulating about Resident Evil 9 might be incorrect. Instead, it appears Capcom plans to reveal the game sometime after Summer 2025.

Await genuine updates about RE9, as most of the rumors circulating are nonsense, according to AestheticGamer. However, it’s worth noting that Silent Hill has been rated in South Korea today, which is definitely intriguing.

There were rumors in November that suggested that Resident Evil 9 might have Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine as its dual protagonists. For clarity, Leon was introduced as a main character in the series in Resident Evil 2, while Jill has been a playable character since the original Resident Evil.

Based on rumors from November, it’s speculated that Leon in Resident Evil 9 may resemble his look from the 2012 animated film Resident Evil: Damnation. On the other hand, Jill’s appearance is expected to be modeled after the 2023 movie Resident Evil: Dead Island.

As a passionate fan, I’ve heard whispers that the upcoming game is supposedly set in the narrative gap between Resident Evil Village and its Shadows of Rose DLC. This new adventure promises to delve deeper into the intriguing tale of the Megamycete, a thread initially spun in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. The leak hints at an open-world setting on an island, where I might roam freely and uncover a myriad of eerie structures, such as a hospital and an abandoned factory, that will surely send chills down my spine.

Back in the summer of 2024, Capcom kept mum about the next installment in the Resident Evil series, but they let slip in July that Resident Evil 9 would be under the guidance of the director behind Resident Evil 7 – Koshi Nakanishi. Since then, whispers have been circulating that development on this game started way back in 2018! And get this, it looks like they’re using Capcom’s very own RE Engine for this project. You know, the engine that’s been behind hits like Monster Hunter Rise, Street Fighter 6, and Dragon’s Dogma 2? It’s also powered some Resident Evil games, including remakes of number 2, 7, Village, a remake of number 3, and most recently, a remake of number 4. So, if the rumors are true, it seems I can’t wait to dive back into the world of Resident Evil with RE9!

The upcoming Capcom game utilizing the same engine is Monster Hunter Wilds, set for launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 28. If the whispers about an open-world design in Resident Evil 9 are accurate, Monster Hunter Wilds could potentially be used to gauge the engine’s performance in this area.
