Amy Schumer is looking back at how her followers helped her reach a medical diagnosis.
Approximately one year following her announcement of being diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome, a condition characterized by excessive production of cortisol in the body, the comedian described how remarks about her swollen face, particularly from medical professionals, ultimately helped uncover the mystery behind her bodily issues.
About a year back, after numerous media appearances, I faced a wave of criticism online. The individual, aged 43, went on to say, “They said, ‘We don’t believe it, we don’t believe it! Something seems off. It’s like your face is strange, and we suspect something might be going on.’
Her concern caused her to view the comments in a new perspective. She remarked, “I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it, is this trolling by doctors?” They were suggesting she might have Cushing’s syndrome, explaining about elevated cortisol levels and steroid injections.
