AI Set to Outperform Humans in Everything Within 3 Years, Claims Anthropic CEO!

In five years, you can expect to make two or three more adjustments in these massive AI models. This was mentioned by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt when reports suggested top AI labs had encountered a plateau in AI advancement. He emphasized that the rate at which these large models are growing is unparalleled and there’s no indication yet that this growth is slowing down.

During a conversation with the Wall Street Journal at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, expressed similar thoughts, suggesting that advanced AI systems may excel in nearly all aspects compared to human cognitive abilities within the next 2 to 3 years.

It’s uncertain when this might occur, but it may take more time than 2027. I suspect it won’t be too much beyond that when AI systems surpass most human capabilities in nearly every area. Better than almost all humans in almost every field. Eventually, even superior to humans in everything, including robotics.

This news emerges at a time when job stability is under discussion due to AI’s fast development. Notably, high-ranking officials like Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, have been emphasizing strategies to automate work currently done by humans with AI. Benioff hinted that Salesforce might soon recruit more software engineers in 2025, while Zuckerberg envisions a scenario where mid-level AI engineers could take over software engineering positions from human employees at Meta.

According to Anthropic’s CEO:

We’ve come to understand that as a technologically advanced society, there’s an immense amount of wealth and value at our disposal. However, the traditional notion that this value should be created through human labor, which gives people their sense of self-worth, is becoming obsolete. When this concept is challenged, we will need to collaborate and find new ways to distribute and create value.

Although SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son recently declared that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could arrive soon at OpenAI’s $500 billion Stargate launch, Dario Amodei from Anthropic seems hesitant to use the term. In an interview with CNBC instead, he referred to advanced AI systems as a “nation of geniuses in a data center,” implying that the term AGI might be more of a marketing concept rather than a technical one.

Contrarily, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, believes that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) may be achieved more quickly than expected using current technology. Although Altman is optimistic about his team’s ability to construct AGI, he has downplayed the idea of deploying AGI next month as mere “hype on Twitter,” hinting at “some very exciting developments.

It’s intriguing that the executive asserts we won’t encounter safety issues related to AI at the point of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), claiming it will arrive swiftly with minimal societal disruption. Last year, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei estimated AGI could be achieved in either 2026 or 2027, based on projected trends in advanced AI model development.
