Upgrade Your Travel Experience with the Ultimate Dual-Stack Portable Monitor: JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16

Working with an expansive ultrawide monitor has become quite beneficial in my daily tasks. However, when I’m on business trips and only have a laptop screen at my disposal, I find myself craving the spaciousness I’ve grown accustomed to for efficient multitasking.

As CES 2025 was fast approaching, I decided it would be beneficial for me to have a portable monitor on hand to improve my productivity while working.

Upon laying eyes on the JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16 with its dual screens stacked together, I immediately felt that it was an ideal choice for my needs.

During my recent business trip, I carried a compact screen along for the journey across two flights, and utilized it throughout the whole week. Here’s the reason I plan to rely on it for future business travels.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Price and specs

Pricing & specifications highlights

  • JSAUX has a few different FlipGo portable monitors to choose from, including touch and non-touch options.
  • The FlipFo Pro 16 sells for $599.99 and can be purchased at Amazon or the JSAUX website.
  • It offers multiple modes and ports to meet your various needs.
  • Value rating (out of 5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As a tech-savvy individual, I’ve noticed that the world of portable monitors is quite vast. It’s no surprise that the pricier options often come packed with additional features and user-friendly perks.

The FlipGo Pro 16 tends to be pricier, retailing at around $599.99 on Amazon, but it boasts superior specifications and additional features compared to certain alternatives in the dual-screen market.

The JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16 comes equipped with dual 16-inch IPS screens that max out at a 2.5K resolution, boasting a smooth refresh rate of up to 60Hz. It supports various operation modes and is compatible with operating systems like Windows, Linux, or MacOS. For this particular review, it was exclusively tested on Windows.

Apart from the 16-inch IPS device without a touchscreen that I’ve reviewed, JSAUX provides additional FlipGo options on their website. You can opt for a model with a touchscreen or a larger 13.5-inch variant if the one I reviewed doesn’t meet your requirements.

Apart from the usual ports for linking to a computer like a laptop or desktop, the FlipGo Pro 16 also incorporates an internal hub specifically designed for connecting peripherals such as mice and keyboards. Considering all these additional features, the FlipGo Pro certainly justifies its $599.99 price tag.

Inside the FlipGo Pro 16 box, I discovered the main device itself, an orange leather magnetic protective cover for the monitors, a foldable stand, a 65W USB-C charging cable, various adapters, a mini HDMI to HDMI cable, and a USB-C 4.0 cable. Essentially, the FlipGo Pro 16 includes all necessary accessories to connect it seamlessly with a laptop or desktop.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Setup and design

Setup and design highlights

  • The JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16 has a durable shell that safely made it through two flights and a week at CES.
  • There is a healthy range of ports available on the sides of the dual screens.
  • As with most displays, you need to be careful not to grab or strain the more delicate parts of the portable monitor or you could damage it.
  • Unlike other dual-stack portable monitors on the market, this one does not have a built-in kickstand.
  • At the press of a button, the FlipGo Pro can alternate between large screen and dual-screen modes.
  • It does not have speakers, nor does it have a webcam.
  • Design rating (out of 5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Upon opening the box for my new FlipGo Pro 16, I encountered a surprising orange accessory. It took me a short while to understand that this extra piece attaches magnetically to the monitor’s top back and wraps around the front, leaving approximately two-thirds of the FlipGo Pro’s back exposed. While it doesn’t provide full coverage, using it during travel seems beneficial as it appears to offer protection for some sensitive areas of the device.

Regarding the magnets on the FlipGo Pro 16, there are two large labels on its rear side, indicating the connection points. I wasn’t sure if these labels were removable or not, but upon trying to take them off, they proved to be quite stubborn. Ultimately, I decided to keep them. Although they can be unsightly, I seldom gaze at the back of monitors, so it’s not much of a concern for me.

Just as any screen, these ones may get damaged if mishandled. The user guides provided will show you the proper way to interact with them. Generally speaking, I find the FlipGo Pro quite robust and well-constructed, but do exercise care when handling it to avoid potential damage.

In my personal assessment of the Tomtoc Navigator-T66, I decided to put it to the test by stowing my FlipGo 16 Pro within my laptop bag for a business journey. To my delight, this accessory not only withstood the grueling week-long CES event but also managed to pass through two TSA screenings and airline travel unscathed, remaining undamaged throughout!

The hinge on this device is flexible enough to adjust with a little force, yet it maintains its position precisely once set, allowing for optimal screen angle alignment. It can be adjusted anywhere between fully open (180 degrees) and completely closed. Inside the FlipGo Pro, discreet rubber cushions ensure that when closed, the monitors won’t collide or scratch each other.

Among various dual-stack portable monitors available, some come equipped with built-in kickstands. However, that’s not the case with the FlipGo Pro. Although the provided stand is useful, it would be more practical for me if these monitors had a built-in kickstand on the back, eliminating the need to carry additional accessories.

Also worth mentioning, while it might not be crucial, is that the FlipGo Pro lacks both built-in speakers and a built-in camera. However, this is common among portable monitors.

Ports and reverse charging

The FlipGo Pro 16 offers more than just basic port options, unlike some portable monitors. On its left side, it boasts two USB-C ports (for charging and display), a mini HDMI port, and on the right, it has an integrated hub. This hub includes two USB-A ports and another USB-C port for accessories such as headphones, computer mice, and keyboards, allowing you to connect all the necessary items for your computer setup with ease.

Furthermore, the FlipGo Pro comes with a reverse charging feature that allows it to power your linked laptop. This means you won’t need to connect both devices to an electrical outlet simultaneously, making it convenient for scenarios such as work trips when there were only a few accessible outlets in my hotel room.

Recently, I tested the FlipGo Pro on two distinct laptops. One of them alerted me that it wasn’t getting sufficient power for reverse charging. Surprisingly, its battery managed to recharge regardless, and there were no problems with the connection during this process.

A portable multitasking dream

At home, I utilize a significantly large 49-inch Dell UltraSharp monitor for my work computer setup. This expansive widescreen, divided into four separate window zones, has become indispensable for my multitasking needs. Reducing to a laptop display feels severely restrictive, but the FlipGo Pro 16 has been instrumental in enhancing my productivity by offering a more spacious viewing area.

During my business trip, I found myself working from my hotel room and decided to arrange my FlipGo Pro monitors horizontally instead of using the standard stand they come with. Instead, I utilized a Folio accessory (I’ll discuss that in detail later) to prop them up. The 16-inch screens are spacious enough for me to display multiple screens side by side when needed, which I often did. Additionally, I can adjust the orientation of these displays to vertical in Windows settings and work on lengthy documents if desired.

Additionally, a handy button located on the FlipGo Pro’s left side facilitates mode switching, enabling seamless transitions between configurations such as combining the two screens into one large screen, mirroring the same signal across both, or using them as individual monitors. Each setup has its usefulness depending on your tasks, making it versatile and beneficial in various scenarios.

While working with the FlipGo Pro 16, I encountered no troubles with the screen displaying necessary content. Setting it up is a breeze, and the compact dual-stack portable monitor accessory occupies less space than one might anticipate. I’d be reluctant to embark on another business trip without the FlipGo Pro 16 by my side.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Picture quality

Picture quality highlights

  • Both screens are IPS panels with a matte finish.
  • In a color gamut test, the FlipGo Pro 16 produced 98% of sRGB, 73% of AdobeRGB, and 73% of P3.
  • These screens offer great brightness and contrast. Plus, it’s easy to control brightness with the menu dial.
  • It can be hard to bring up the OSD on first try and the OSD menu is not in English by default, so it can be hard to find the right settings.
  • Display rating (out of 5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐

At present, JSAUX’s FlipGo dual-portable monitors are exclusively equipped with IPS panels capable of a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz. Whether other panel types like OLEDs will be incorporated into the product line in the future remains uncertain. For the FlipGo Pro 16 model, it provides a high-definition max resolution of up to 2560 x 1600 with a 16:10 aspect ratio, ensuring sharp and unobstructed visuals.

As a tech-savvy individual, I put the FlipGo Pro 16 through its paces using my personal colorimeter. To my delight, it delivered a stunning 98% of sRGB color gamut! Though it fell slightly short of JSAUX’s claim of 100%, the difference is negligible in practical terms, making this device an impressive display nonetheless.

Additionally, I performed a test on both brightness and contrast using the same colorimeter device. Unfortunately, the accessory didn’t quite meet expectations in this area. According to JSAUX, their monitors are capable of reaching up to 500 nits of brightness; however, my findings revealed that the screen only attains around 400 nits at maximum brightness settings. This is significantly less than advertised, making the display noticeably dimmer.

In comparison, the results showed superior performance, indicating that the screen delivers rich blacks and vivid whites for enhanced image details.

From certain sharp or oblique perspectives, the screen may seem dimmer due to its IPS panel characteristics. However, when viewed head-on, there shouldn’t be any issues. Regarding reflections, the screens feature a matte finish that is less reflective than glossy displays. To optimize your viewing experience, it would be best to position them so they avoid direct light sources.

It’s important to note that while not all portable monitors offer top-notch picture quality, this particular model is still an excellent choice for its display panels given the competition in the market. Despite not receiving a perfect score across the board, it remains a solid option.

Some initial OSD setbacks

As a researcher, I’ve been exploring the features of the FlipGo Pro 16, and one aspect that caught my attention is the On-Screen Display (OSD). To adjust the brightness, I found a handy menu dial located on the right side of the device. Pressing this dial will bring up the OSD menu for further customization options. However, I noticed that the dial has a tendency to move unexpectedly, making it tricky to press the button accurately at first. With practice, I managed to get the hang of it over the course of the week.

In a different context, the on-screen display (OSD) settings were initially set to Simplified Chinese, which required me to use Google Translate on my phone to understand how to switch it to English. After resolving that issue, the OSD menu offered various customization options such as adjusting contrast, sharpness, hue, saturation, color temperature, input signal, and low blue light settings.

Although they may not be as extensive as a standard computer monitor, these alternatives still allow me to tailor the screens according to my unique requirements.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Accessories

Accessory highlights

  • JSAUX offers several separately sold accessories for the FlipGo Pro 16.
  • There’s the Flex Folio stand, the adjustable Snap Stand, a magnetic Vesa adapter kit, right-angle USB-C adapters, and more.
  • I was able to test all of these peripherals and found that they really can make the dual monitors more convenient to use.
  • Accessory rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

Among numerous portable monitors available, quite a few lack dedicated accessories. However, what sets JSAUX’s dual-screen solution apart is evident – it’s not just about the screens (pun intended). JSAUX kindly provided me with four additional peripherals to test, allowing me to explore how these separate purchases could enhance the overall user experience even more.

Keep in mind that due to their powerful magnets, it’s essential to handle the FlipGo Pro and its attachments with care during travel to prevent potential harm to your other electronic devices.

Flex Folio provides a wider magnetic stand

Up there in the image collection, you’ll find the JSAUX Flex Folio – a sturdy accessory crafted from polyurethane. It magnetically adheres to the back of the FlipGo Pro 16, expanding the stand’s reach beyond the default one designed for dual-stacked screens. Unlike other folios I’ve encountered, this one doesn’t shield the front side of the FlipGo Pro 16. It offers some level of protection, but it doesn’t completely encase the device.

At the start, I found it somewhat perplexing to configure this device, but fear not! Instructions and color-coded icons labeled with magnets have been provided to lead you through the process effortlessly. It’s quite evident that with a bit more streamlining, the setup could be even less puzzling.

No matter how you position your double-screen monitors, the Flex Folio will always keep them stable and secure. To sum it up, this accessory is my personal favorite from the collection and the one I suggest most for individuals who are particularly planning to use the FlipGo Pro for travel. You can find it priced at $59.99 on JSAUX.

Snap Stand has a strong magnet but is a bit wobbly

Should you find a traditional stand more appealing than a folio, then the JSAUX Snap Stand might catch your eye. It’s incredibly simple to put together, just by securing the adjustable stand into its weighted base with screws. You can purchase it for $39.99 on Amazon.

The FlipGo Pro’s head attaches firmly with powerful magnets to its back, adjusting to both landscape and portrait positions. For optimal viewing, the stand can stretch or retract, and the head can move forward or backward. Although the Snap Stand’s base is somewhat unstable, it never felt like it would tip over during use.

VESA adapter for magnetic mounting

If you’re seeking a long-term solution to attach your dual-screen monitors to a computer desk arm or any mounting surface, you might want to check out the magnetic VESA adapter offered by JSAUX. It can be found on Amazon for $39.99.

The magnets within this accessory are exceptionally powerful, ensuring that the FlipGo Pro stays securely fastened. Moreover, included in the package is a screwdriver, screws, and nuts, making it convenient as you’ll have all necessary components for attachment to your designated mounting spot right out of the box.

Right-angle USB-C adapters

I’m really fond of this accessory that I use across multiple devices. For my ROG Ally X, specifically, I find it very useful in minimizing cable tension. When coupled with the FlipGo Pro, it becomes even more efficient at managing cables, allowing them to be arranged sideways instead of straight down on your desk. You can grab a pair of these for $8.99 from Amazon.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Competition

When it comes to selecting top-notch portable monitors, there’s no shortage of options. However, not all options are created equal; some are superior to others.

Previously, I mentioned that JSAUX provides various choices within their FlipGo series. If a 16-inch model is too big or doesn’t meet your specific requirements, you may want to explore other JSAUX products. You can do this by visiting either the Amazon marketplace or the official JSAUX website. If you prefer something more compact, consider the FlipGo Pro 13.5 Pro, priced at $459.99 on Amazon. Alternatively, if you’re set on a 16-inch model but require touchscreens, take a look at the FlipGo Touch 16, available for purchase at Amazon for $599.99.

If you’re looking for a single portable monitor that suits your requirements, you might want to explore the ASUS ZenScreen series. For instance, the ASUS 16″ MB16QHG is an option worth considering, and it retails for $349.00 on Amazon. This model has just one screen, making it more compact than the FlipGo Pro and saving space. It offers a resolution of up to 2560 x 1600 with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Scorecard

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16: Should you buy it?

✅ You should buy this if…

  • You want two portable displays for travel, home, or work use.
  • You’d like a dual-stack monitor with a built-in hub for connecting accessories.

❌ You should not buy this if…

  • You only need a one-screen portable monitor.
  • You’d prefer a dual-stack portable monitor with a built-in kickstand.

Attending CES 2025 with the JSAUX FlipGo Pro 16 was a brilliant choice I’m glad I made. This accessory significantly boosts my productivity when connected to my computer, allowing me to switch between tasks seamlessly. The 16-inch IPS display delivers a sharp 2.5K resolution, wide color gamut, and excellent contrast for viewing documents and programs clearly. Moreover, its reverse charging feature and integrated hub make it effortless to connect other devices in one convenient location.

Instead of having a built-in kickstand on the FlipGo Pro 16, it’s beneficial that one is provided in the box. Alternatively, you can choose to purchase additional stands like the Flex Folio, Snap Stand, or VESA mount for alternative ways to position the dual screens.

If you’re finding that your laptop or computer display isn’t providing enough space, I strongly suggest considering the FlipGo Pro 16. It functions seamlessly and is an excellent companion for business travels.
