Cult classic Dreamcast and GameCube RPG Skies of Arcadia could be on the cusp of a comeback.
Earlier this month, Gematsu noticed that Sega had registered trademarks for the games ‘Skies of Arcadia’ and ‘Eternal Arcadia’. In Japan, the 2000 fan favorite was initially launched using the name ‘Eternal Arcadia’.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel a sense of longing for a remaster or re-release of the masterpiece that first captivated me on the Dreamcast and later found its way to the GameCube. Regrettably, despite critical acclaim, it remains untouched by modern platforms.
Although it’s not definitive, it’s likely that SEGA has taken notice of the high enthusiasm among fans for this specific game, so it wouldn’t surprise us if it resurfaces later in 2022.
