A fresh announcement has unveiled an exciting news for fans: The popular anime series Oshi no Ko is set to have a special promo event! This celebration will take place at the Anime Tokyo Station in Japan, where they’ll be hosting an Oshi no Ko exhibition. Visitors can expect to revisit memorable moments from the acclaimed anime adaptation, as well as participate in photo opportunities inspired by famous scenes like the “Kana Arima Bell Pepper Exercise” and “Pieyon’s Boot Dance”. Additionally, attendees will get a chance to engage with life-sized character panels or capture stunning photos with them.
At the exhibition, visitors can interact with a simulated version of the fictional idol group B-Komachi from the series. Additionally, a replica of Memcho’s room will be featured, modeled after her videos from her official YouTube channel. The exhibition is located on floors B1 to 2F in the Tokyo East 5 section of Anime Tokyo Station and admission is free. It runs from February 8th through May 6th, with hours from 11 AM to 7 PM. Please note that the exhibition will be closed on Mondays, except for holidays when it will be open on the Monday and closed the following day. This event is known as the Oshi no Ko exhibition.
The Staying Power of Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko revolves around twin siblings seeking justice for their mother’s murder amidst their demanding careers in the entertainment world. The series explores deep themes such as rejection, fanaticism, and societal expectations. The manga concluded on November 14th, 2024, leaving fans with a mixed emotions finale where not all characters survive. In 2023, the anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko became one of the year’s most popular shows, with Yoasobi’s opening theme gaining international acclaim as a chart-topping hit. The manga has been an enormous success, selling over 20 million copies worldwide and spawning various spin-offs, including a television drama adaptation and live-action film.
The Future of Oshi no Ko
The manga for “Oshi no Ko” concluded in 2024, but the series shows no signs of slowing its pace. A light novel centered around Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa, set after the main storyline, was published in December 2024, however, there’s yet to be an official announcement regarding an English translation. Additionally, a third season for the “Oshi no Ko” anime has been announced, but as of now, a specific release date is still uncertain.
In February 2025, I’m excited to witness the joint venture between the captivating anime series and the iconic Japanese fashion magazine, SPUR. This collaboration brings Ai Hoshino, the beloved mascot from Oshi no Ko, to grace the cover of SPUR. These special editions provide fans with an enticing glimpse into an alternate, more joyful life for Ai, diverging from her storyline in the main series.
For anime enthusiasts residing in North America, Sentai Filmworks has secured the distribution rights, enabling you to own physical Blu-ray discs of this series. The show is also accessible on Hidive, where it made a monumental debut in 2023, becoming their biggest launch that year.
