On Sunday evening, Call the Midwife resumes, and based on the initial glimpse of the upcoming episode, it appears that Rosalind might be experiencing a significant issue.
In the opening scenes of that particular episode, I found myself concerned as it appeared Rosalind was enduring significant discomfort, limping down corridors before eventually retreating to her bed. There, she received visits from Joyce and Trixie, a sight that further fueled my worries about her condition.
But will the nurse be OK?
It seems there’s some uncertainty about Rosalind’s situation, but it’s clear that she’s experienced a series of personal difficulties lately, especially concerning romantic issues and her relationship with Cyril.

As a movie enthusiast, I noticed in other scenes from this episode, it seems Rosalind is thriving and back at work, or perhaps even prior to her illness. Moreover, she’s been taking care of Cyril’s feline friend.
Following the latest revelation that Lucille is seeking a divorce, it’s likely that tensions could simmer even longer between Cyril and Rosalind after his announcement.

This week’s episode summary goes like this: “Garbage collectors in our town are on strike due to a wage disagreement. A towering mountain of trash accumulates outside Nonnatus House, which in turn draws rats and leads to a spike in Weil’s disease cases.
A new mother, having recently delivered her third child, develops an aversion towards Joyce and dismisses her offers of assistance during her postnatal difficulties.
Judging by the summary, it seems plausible that Rosalind might be experiencing an episode of Weils disease, which is another name for Leptospirosis. This particular infection can be transmitted through contact with animals, soil, or contaminated water.
In many instances, affected individuals may exhibit no symptoms, but severe cases can present with elevated temperatures, discomfort in the body, and an overall feeling of being unwell – conditions that potentially could have stricken Rosalind.
They had a minor argument with some street-dwellers. This is just the beginning, and I suspect things will become more challenging for them as time goes on.
