Microbird Games unveiled yesterday their plan to launch Dungeons of Hinterberg on PlayStation 5 next month, having initially debuted on Xbox Series X|S and PC last year. Mark your calendars for March 13th, 2025, as that’s when the PS5 version will drop, together with an update featuring a secret bonus episode. No new trailer is available at present, but you can watch gameplay footage above.
In the game titled Dungeons of Hinterberg, you’ll experience a unique blend of dungeon exploration (which primarily involves combat and discovery) and character bonding reminiscent of Persona, all set amidst the scenic Austrian Alps. As the press release states, players will traverse various environments, tackle puzzles, vanquish towering bosses – then unwind by sharing a hearty Schnitzel with locals and fellow adventurers hailing from every corner of the globe. By cultivating meaningful relationships, you’ll unlock unique abilities, gameplay mechanics, or crucial items that will assist in navigating the challenging labyrinthine dungeons.
At its initial release, the game received an 81 score from Metacritic for the Xbox Series X|S version. Although our sister site, Pure Xbox, wasn’t overly enthusiastic about it (giving it a 7/10), they did acknowledge its vibrant visuals and engaging gameplay mechanics in their review.
The game “Dungeons of Hinterberg” is a trendy and laidback action-RPG that excels in creating a world you’ll want to delve into, filled with challenging dungeons that require effort but maintain a relaxed atmosphere.
