Kept you waiting for the new Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta Ape Escape mode, huh?
Konami dropped the release date as well as some well-missed monkey business.
But what exactly are these apes, and are they also involved with the Patriots in some way?
Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Delta Ape Escape Mode
Firstly, the release date is August 28th for those wondering.
Additionally, it’s crucial to note that upon release, there will be a new version of Ape Escape called Delta Ape Escape. However, these aren’t your old monkeys anymore. They’ve undergone a makeover due to the upgraded engine and may even have some adjustments in gameplay compared to the original mode.
Experience the freshly launched Delta Ape Escape mode or Snake vs. Monkey, a recent addition to the original game. Way back in 2004, the PlayStation 2 version offered an extra feature that allowed players to track down those crafty apes. Additionally, it served as a bonus for gamers, enabling them to unlock camouflage and gear for the primary gameplay mode.
However, upon the High Definition (HD) launch, there was a significant absence of the battle between Snake and Monkey. This was due to the fact that an Xbox version had been released, and Sony chose to keep their cherished primates off that platform.
In 2012, neither the HD collection nor the 3DS version of Metal Gear Solid 3 included several features. Specifically, the frame rate was slower and the Delta Ape Escape mode was absent in the 3DS version. However, it did offer crouch walking and controls similar to Peace Walker.
Since the transition from the original release in August, it’s unclear how many adjustments have been made across all stages, including those related to Europe and subsistence. If I were a speculator, I would guess that these new changes encompass all stages from previous versions.
Regarding the remake, it’s uncertain if the gameplay will be an exact match. Nonetheless, the developers have pledged to make it as similar as feasible.
MonkeyDie
You may wonder what makes the fresh MGS Delta Ape Escape mode significant. In simpler terms, the Ape Escape series appears to be longing for a rejuvenation boost.
It’s truly unfortunate that Sony seems to have forgotten about the beloved “Ape Escape” series, along with numerous other intellectual properties, which are now gathering dust on the proverbial shelves. This franchise, known for its fun-filled games, deserves a second chance.
Previously, they were seen in Astro Bot back in 2024. At present, they’re not enjoying much limelight. However, with the upcoming Delta Ape Escape mode, there’s a possibility that enthusiasm for this franchise could resurface among Sony fans.
It’s quite possible that they might recognize popular games such as these (fun games like Astro Bot) and understand that this is the kind of content the market consistently desires. Perhaps they will respond by launching a revival, update, or even better, creating a brand new sequel.
Not only did I enjoy the Snake vs Monkey gameplay in both versions, having owned a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 for the 3DS, I feel confident expressing my thoughts about it!
This game mode adds an enjoyable touch, and it’s clear that the development team put in some additional thought and care to incorporate this small detail, demonstrating their dedication to making this remake special.
But now we need that one hack-and-slash nightmare included, and we are golden.
