Dave the Diver Teams Up with Yakuza’s Ichiban in Exciting New DLC

After Dave the Diver achieved indie success, the game has been associated with various unexpected partnerships alongside its delightful sushi theme. So far, Dave and his team have faced off against Godzilla and encountered another fishing-themed game in Dredge. Now, Dave the Diver is preparing for another notable collaboration. This coming April, the renowned Yakuza character Kasuga Ichiban will make an appearance at the Blue Hole. The upcoming DLC is set to release this April, introducing fresh gameplay aspects to our beloved pixel art deep-sea diving game.

In the latest expansion for “Dave the Diver”, protagonist Kasuga Ichiban embarks on a vacation to the Blue Hole. Despite anticipating a relaxing break with delicious meals at Bancho Sushi, the trailer hints that Ichiban and his sushi-making colleagues find themselves in deeper trouble than expected. This predicament involves more than just enjoying the underwater scenery; it also includes fighting off enemies as shown. To make things even more exciting for fans, this April will see the addition of a combat game element to the adventure.

As Kasuga Ichiban, I find myself taking a break at the enchanting Blue Hole – little did I know it was hiding secrets of its own… 🌊🏖️

As a diehard fan counting down the days until “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” drops on February 21st, MintRocket’s recent announcement couldn’t be more perfectly timed. Although we won’t get to join Ichiban at the Blue Hole until April, the excitement for the next installment of the Yakuza series is palpable right now. With that in mind, why not take advantage of this moment and add the upcoming DLC to our wishlists? After all, it’s an excellent way to ensure we have something exciting to look forward to once we wrap up our “Pirate Yakuza” adventure!

What We Know About the Dave the Diver: Ichiban’s Holiday DLC

Although the trailer doesn’t explicitly mention the specific launch date, it’s been confirmed that the “Ichiban’s Holiday” DLC is set to be released in April across all platforms. To clarify, this DLC expansion can be found on PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam. Unfortunately, at this time, we don’t have any updates regarding the availability of “Dave the Diver” on Xbox Series X|S.

Fans have been anticipating the second DLC for “Dave the Diver” since the announcement of the “In the Jungle” expansion at the 2024 Game Awards. However, there hasn’t been any recent update on its release schedule, which was initially set for late 2025. Interestingly, it seems that MintRocket might be releasing a collaborative DLC before taking players to the jungle with Dave and the Bancho Sushi team. This upcoming expansion will mark the first major standalone addition to the game without a collaboration with another title.

Just as the cost of the In the Jungle DLC remains unknown, MintRocket has not disclosed any pricing details for the Ichiban’s Holiday DLC either. Their previous collaboration, Dredge , is currently free, and they’ve also given away other temporary additions like the Godzilla pack as complimentary expansions to the game. Therefore, there’s a strong likelihood that this new collaboration might also be offered without a charge, but it’s still uncertain for now.

Initially, spectators joining Dave in the Blue Hole weren’t anticipating such an abundance of fresh content from the game, but instead found themselves eagerly returning for more. It appears MintRocket has no intentions of lessening their surprising, enjoyable partnerships, and fans are far from displeased – quite the contrary, they’re looking forward to this new crossover with the Yakuza world.
