Dragon Ball Daima has finally incorporated Super Saiyan 4 into its official storyline, a move that once again leaves Vegeta in the dust since Goku now possesses yet another transformation that Vegeta can’t match. This decision by Dragon Ball Daima serves to rekindle the intense rivalry between Goku and Vegeta. The story unfolds directly after the Majin Buu arc, allowing both characters to start anew on equal footing as they face new adversaries together. Interestingly, for a brief moment, Vegeta even seemed to outshine Goku.
In the world of Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta managed to unlock the elusive Super Saiyan 3 form, a feat that had never been shown before in action. However, with Goku and Vegeta advancing into their godly forms instead, fans didn’t get to witness this transformation. This revelation narrowed the gap between the two characters and provided an answer for why Vegeta hadn’t used it previously. But in Dragon Ball Daima, a new twist has emerged: the introduction of Super Saiyan 4. Now, Goku boasts a form exclusive to him, one that Vegeta may struggle to achieve even through rigorous training. It seems he might not be able to close the gap this time around.
Vegeta Can’t Obtain Super Saiyan 4
In Episode 18 of Dragon Ball Daima, Neva’s magical intervention officially incorporated the Super Saiyan 4 form, which was previously exclusive to Dragon Ball GT, into the main series canon. Similar to how Dragon Ball GT introduced this transformation, Goku in that series received it after being struck by a special energy beam. Now, under these unique circumstances, Goku can manifest a new variation of Super Saiyan 4 within the established timeline. Consequently, this development has generated some intriguing discussions.
Despite the transformation not being fully sufficient compared to Supreme Demon Gomah’s Tertian Oculus power, it was evident that Vegeta felt challenged, as he was no longer competing at the same level as Goku. The introduction of Super Saiyan 3 suggested that he had been secretly working towards mastering this form out of personal pride. He hadn’t intended to showcase this transformation in front of Goku, but desired it nonetheless. However, there seems to be another ability he has yet to fully grasp.
Super Saiyan 4 Might Be Impossible to Replicate
Unfortunately for Vegeta, it seems that achieving Super Saiyan 4 may be a unique transformation under specific circumstances, making it unlikely for him and Goku to experience it again until much later in the Dragon Ball Super series. This is due to the unusual nature of the Demon Realm and the fact that Neva’s exceptionally strong magic was involved, granting Goku an additional power surge.
It appears that Super Saiyan 4 might be hidden within the transformations of both Goku and Vegeta, but the extra magical enhancement might make it challenging to use frequently in the future. Since we don’t witness this form being used later on, it seems that Goku may not be able to access it again, and it’s doubtful that Vegeta can attain it through self-training like Super Saiyan 3. In essence, Dragon Ball is once more giving Vegeta the short end of the stick by denying him an exclusive form he may have to bypass.
