Fan-favorite character Shaxs from “Star Trek: Lower Decks” returns for a new adventure titled “Star Trek: Lore War–Shaxs’ Worst Day“. In April, IDW Publishing will bring back the creative duo Ryan North and Derek Charm, who previously collaborated on the Eisner-nominated comic “Star Trek: Day of Blood—Shaxs’ Best Day“, to pen this sequel. Similar to its predecessor, “Shaxs’ Worst Day” will follow Shaxs’ escapades during a significant Star Trek comics event, but instead of his best day, it focuses on his most challenging experiences. The story unfolds in the animated style reminiscent of “Star Trek: Lower Decks“. However, unlike other characters in “Star Trek: Lore War“, Shaxs finds himself in a universe manipulated by Lore and is forced to play the part he despises – a fascist.

Hailing from the same creative minds behind the Ringo- and Eisner-nominated comic “Shaxs’ Best Day” comes an action-packed adventure filled with witty nautical antics, unrelenting bravery, and explosive battles. Remember, it’s not just Shaxs having a tough day; it’s fascism that’s in for a hard time.
Originally, Shaxs experienced his finest day, but following the universe’s rewrite by the deranged android Lore, things are about to turn dismal for him. Starfleet, once a symbol of freedom and justice, has been twisted into an instrument of oppression, contradicting its former ideals. Regrettably, Shaxs finds himself transformed into something he abhors the most – a fascist.
As the grip of Lore on my consciousness has finally been broken, it falls upon me, Shaxs, to restore every member of Starfleet to their former selves and safeguard the universe once more.
On May 28th, “Star Trek: Lore War – Shaxs’ Most Troublesome Day” goes on sale, with the last chance to pre-order being April 21st. The comic book will feature three distinct covers: one designed by Charm, another by Robby Cook, and a special retailer incentive cover by Rahzzah.
After the end of the “Star Trek: Lower Decks” series, IDW Publishing has continued to be involved in the franchise. Previously, they released a “Star Trek: Lower Decks” miniseries, and now they are publishing an ongoing comic book for the series, written by North. Additionally, North collaborated with Chris Fenoglio on an interactive graphic novel called “Star Trek: Lower Decks – Warp Your Own Way“, where readers can influence the story’s direction.
Lore War” is the upcoming joint venture between the casts and creators of the original “Star Trek” series and “Star Trek: Defiant“. The storyline for this crossover event will kick off in issue #1 of “Star Trek: Lore Wars“, set to be released on April 2nd.
