The Xbox Cloud Gaming service offered by Xbox is broadening its capabilities with the latest update. This allows gamers to extend invitations to other players, enabling them to instantly join multiplayer games through the cloud, according to information released by Xbox Wire on Tuesday.
I’ve promptly checked out this feature on Age of Mythology: Retold to confirm it’s now active. To utilize it, gamers simply need to be engaged in a multiplayer session via Xbox Cloud Gaming. Once there, open the Xbox interface, move to game invitations, then opt for “Anyone”. After that, copy the provided link and send it to your desired gaming companions.
To participate, it’s essential that the person joining has an active Xbox account and a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. At present, you can access this feature through web browsers (by visiting Xbox.com/play) or Samsung Smart TVs.
More games to stream and play if you already own them

Last year, the Xbox team introduced preliminary support for their eagerly anticipated “Stream Your Own Game” function across about fifty titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
As an analyst, I’m thrilled to share that an update earlier this year significantly expanded our game library, adding titles akin to Subnautica. Now, we’re gearing up for another wave of games, and among them is a highly anticipated gem: Massive Monster and Devolver Digital’s 2022 indie sensation, Cult of the Lamb.
You can find the list of games that are now coming soon to Xbox Cloud Gaming below:
- Atomic Heart
- Cult of the Lamb
- Hotline Miami
- Killer Frequency
- Neva
- Overcooked! All You Can Eat
- Phanton Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate
- Serious Sam Collection
- Trepang2
- Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition
Xbox Cloud Gaming is growing again
Over the past couple of years, progress on Xbox Cloud Gaming seemed to slow down due to legal battles Microsoft was engaged in to acquire Activision Blizzard King. However, recently, there has been a noticeable pick-up in momentum.
It’s heartening to observe the regular updates to the streaming-compatible game list, and even more so considering the extensive catalog of Xbox exclusive games that are compatible with Cloud gaming. For instance, the latest role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed, is one such title.
On the first day, many new Xbox games, such as DOOM: The Dark Ages from id Software, will be playable through cloud gaming alongside their console release.
I still prefer playing games natively on my Xbox Series X or my PC, but having options is great.
By the way, there have been some discussions among players about Balatro being excluded from the games they can stream if they own them. I believe this might be an oversight during the design phase since Balatro has recently joined Xbox Game Pass. However, I’m reaching out to Microsoft for confirmation on the matter.
