Streaming services are increasingly bringing back popular animated shows, and it’s proving to be a successful strategy. We’ve seen revivals of series like King of the Hill, Futurama, and Animaniacs, appealing to both longtime fans and new audiences. Beyond simply continuing older shows, there’s a trend of reimagining classic cartoons for a new generation, as seen with the Yellowstone take on Hanna-Barbera characters. Now, it looks like another beloved animated world from the past – one filled with quirky underwater creatures – is getting a similar treatment.
Get ready for the return of the Snorks! The popular cartoon from 1984 is making a comeback, according to the official website. Dodo Reanimation Lab B.V., the company behind the revival, says they’re creating a new version of the show that honors the original while appealing to today’s kids. They aim to capture the nostalgia fans remember while introducing the Snorks to a new generation.
The Snorks are making a comeback! A new website describes an immersive underwater world called Snorkelland, promising fun, adventure, and heartwarming friendships. The show will explore important themes like teamwork, celebrating differences, and protecting our oceans, blending classic appeal with modern values. It seems likely that a new generation will soon be discovering the magic of the Snorks, while their parents enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Though not officially announced, it looks like the franchise is set to return in some capacity.
The History of the Snorks

The cartoon Snorks, which aired in the 1980s, introduced audiences to underwater creatures long before SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends arrived in Bikini Bottom. Though it ran for four seasons, it’s been a while since fans have seen the adventures of these classic Hanna-Barbera characters. Currently, the show isn’t available on any streaming services like HBO Max. However, the entire series was released on DVD, so that’s the best way to watch Snorks if you’re looking to revisit it.
I’m so excited about everything happening with Hanna-Barbera right now! You might know them as the creators of classics like Scooby-Doo, and it sounds like Scooby and the gang are gearing up for even more adventures. Not only are they planning two new anime series, but there’s also a live-action show coming to Netflix! Even though the Jellystone show on HBO Max has finished, it’s awesome to hear that they still have big plans for all those fantastic Hanna-Barbera characters we grew up with.
