Developer Reburn, formerly known as 4A Games Ukraine, has unveiled its latest creation: “La Quimera“. This fresh concept by Reburn boasts a team of developers who have previously contributed to games from the Metro franchise. Here’s the announcement trailer for you below.
In “La Quimera”, the primary backdrop will be Latin America, where the game unfolds in a sprawling metropolis bordering lush jungles. The narrative of this intriguing title is penned by Nicolas Winding Refn (of Drive and The Neon Demon fame) and E.J.A. Warren. As revealed in the official press release for “La Quimera”, the storyline will blend futuristic sci-fi weaponry and technology with the rich folklore of Latin America.
The tale unfolds in the year 2064, a time when many nations have ceased to exist due to a succession of disasters spanning from the 2030s to the 2040s. Now, microstates rule much of the world, but they are persistently at odds with corporations, creating an atmosphere of ongoing conflict.
In a recent press announcement, Dmytro Lymar, founder and CEO of Reburn, expressed excitement about unveiling their latest creation, titled “La Quimera“. This project is rooted in our previous success with story-centric shooter games within the “Metro” game series. He’s eager to engage players by delving into this enigmatic new world and hopes they will enjoy immersing themselves in the experience of gearing up for battle.
In essence, La Quimera is predominantly a narrative-focused shooter game, but it also offers cooperative multiplayer for as many as three players. Throughout the game’s tale, players can leverage an array of weapons and abilities, thanks to their character’s exosuit. The specifications of these exosuits are customizable based on mission requirements.
Currently in development for PC, La Quimera doesn’t yet have a release date.
