Sofia Vergara’s lead-up to the 2025 Oscars is nothing less than a dream.
Before the 97th Academy Awards, which were hosted by Conan O’Brien at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on March 2nd, the former star of Modern Family was gearing up for the grand event with even more lavish celebrations. She wasn’t the only one enjoying the festivities, as stars like Heidi Klum, Sebastian Stan, and Paris Hilton were also in attendance.
On February 28th, photos shared on Instagram showed Sofia enjoying a late-night treat alongside her America’s Got Talent co-judge and Anastasia Beverly Hills’ CEO, Anastasia Soare.
Or, more casually:
Sofia spent the night munching on some snacks with her fellow America’s Got Talent judge, Anastasia Soare, as seen in Instagram posts from February 28th.
Despite them all enjoying the same casual snack in an amusing photo, the trio appeared breathtakingly beautiful in their elegant attire. Sofia donned a strapless black gown adorned with intricate designs, Heidi sparkled in a short sequined blue dress, and Anastasia chose a black peplum gown.
In these snapshots, Sebastian and his partner Anabelle Wallis made an appearance alongside the cityscape of Paris. Anabelle was resplendent in a fashion forward Y2K-inspired dress, while film producer Mohammed Al Turki opted for a relaxed attire.
Additionally, she capped off the evening with these memorable photos. The actress from “Hot Pursuit” simply wrote, “It’s Oscars weekend.
Despite Sofia not being nominated for Oscars at the upcoming event, she has already made history this award season as the first Latina to be nominated for Lead Actress in a Limited Series, recognition she earned for her portrayal of real-life drug lord Griselda Blanco in the Netflix miniseries.
During the Live From TopMob: Emmys event in September, Sofia shared with Laverne Cox that she was taken aback by being nominated. She confessed that it was her debut performance in a drama, surprisingly enough in Spanish. It felt like an unexpected and pleasant surprise to her.
Apart from being nominated for an Emmy, she also received a nod for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress category for Miniseries or Television Films. However, when it was time for the January 5th ceremony, she didn’t accept her loss to Jodie Foster passively.
Sofia stood up and exclaimed after Jodie, who had been nominated for her role in True Detective: Night Country, was announced as the winner by presenters Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara. In response, Jodie acknowledged from the stage, “Yes, I understand.
Given that the award was indeed her fifth Golden Globe, Sofia playfully shouted from the audience, “One more, please!

Despite Emilia Pérez, known for her role as Jessi Del Monte, receiving favorable reviews and even being nominated for a Golden Globe, she was not included in the list of nominees for the category of Best Supporting Actress.
One who did find themselves on the coveted list was Monica Barbaro.
Monica’s unexpected recognition for her role as Joan Baez in “A Complete Unknown” at the SAG Awards in 2025 is certainly welcome news, following her omission from the Golden Globe nominations earlier on.
In contrast to her nomination at the Golden Globes, Angelina Jolie was not selected for an Oscar nomination this year, as she took on her first significant role since 2021’s The Eternals, following Maria.
It won’t shock you to hear they were nominated, but what could astonish you is that these longtime Hollywood figures haven’t received an Academy Award nomination until now.
As an ardent admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement to share the news that some truly exceptional talents are finally getting the recognition they deserve! Among those long-overdue nominees, who’ve persevered through remarkable careers, are none other than Demi Moore for “The Substance,” Guy Pearce in “The Brutalist,” the inimitable Isabella Rossellini gracing us with her presence in “Conclave,” Zoe Saldaña shining in “Emilia Pérez,” Kieran Culkin delivering a captivating performance in “A Real Pain,” and Brazil’s very own Fernanda Torres, mesmerizing audiences with her work in “I’m Still Here.” I can hardly wait to see what these incredible artists bring to the table!
As a devoted admirer, I must share that despite the remarkable box office triumphs and rave reviews for “Wicked”, I found myself overlooked in the Director’s category at the ripe age of 45.
Although it’s not entirely unexpected that the body horror film starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, which received a Best Picture nomination, might be considered surprising due to its genre, it challenges a tradition where horror films are typically excluded from the main award category.
In the same film genre, several past movies that received a Best Picture nomination include “Get Out”, “The Silence of the Lambs”, “The Sixth Sense”, and “The Exorcist”.
Although the actress famed as “Babygirl”, with a history of five Academy Award nominations, received recognition at the Golden Globes, she did not make it onto the list of nominees for this year’s Oscars.
Despite the tennis-focused movie, starring Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor, failing to secure any Oscar nominations, surprisingly, it missed out on recognition in the Music (Original Score) category.
Indeed, the electronic, heavily bass-laden soundtrack nearly took on a life of its own within the movie, setting it apart as one of the most distinctive soundtracks from the past year.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to shed some light on an interesting detail you might’ve spotted during your recent viewing: for select shows or events, the phrase “Nominees to be determined” appears. This simply means that the individuals who will be nominated for awards or recognition in these specific titles have not yet been officially announced. It’s all part of the anticipation and excitement surrounding these events!
According to the Academy’s guidelines, a producer must first be deemed eligible by the Producers Guild of America. In this instance, the names of some of the nominees are yet to be officially confirmed.
The announcements, coming in early February, therefore promise to be a surprise for all.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my dismay when reflecting on the 2019 movie “The Last Showgirl.” Despite Pamela’s exceptional performance that garnered her a Golden Globe nod, it’s heart-wrenching to know that she, along with our beloved cast member Jamie Lee Curtis, were overlooked by the Academy. The brilliance of their collective work seems to have gone unnoticed in the Oscar nominations.
Absolutely, it’s true that the alumna from “The Mindy Project” is now involved with Anuja, who was nominated for a Live Action Short Film, having contributed to its production.
