Artwork leaked from the upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday” hints at the comeback of a major character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A collection of drawings by artist Mushk Rizvi have surfaced online, offering a sneak peek into what fans might see when the new Marvel blockbuster hits cinemas next summer. Besides offering views of Doctor Doom, the Young Avengers, and several Hulks, the concept art also depicts a Black Panther version equipped in Wakanda. This leads to speculation about whether T’Challa will feature in the final version of “Avengers: Doomsday”.
Chadwick Boseman skillfully brought T’Challa to life throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Saga, starting with his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War and continuing through Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Following the heartbreaking loss of the actor in 2020, it was decided that T’Challa would perish within the storyline, resulting in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever focusing on Shuri taking over as the Black Panther instead.

Over time, discussions have arisen concerning whether T’Challa might be played by a different actor in future productions. Recently, whispers have surfaced hinting at this possibility. The speculation suggests that Marvel Studios might be considering introducing a new version of T’Challa via the Multiverse, potentially in stories like Doomsday or Secret Wars. If these rumors prove true, it remains unclear whether this new T’Challa would appear in an eventual Black Panther 3 film.
During a press tour for “Captain America: Brave New World”, Marvel producer Nate Moore tackled the speculation about recasting, clarifying that there was no basis to these rumors since “Black Panther 3” is still in its infancy stages of development. However, he left open the possibility by adding, “One should never rule out anything entirely.
Remember that the illustration you see is concept art, not a confirmation that T’Challa will appear in the movie “Doomsday”. The creators might have been exploring the idea at some point during development and ordered the drawing to visualize what it could look like, but eventually decided on a different direction.
However, given T’Challa’s significant role in the comics, it makes sense for him to continue being relevant in the films. The challenge of recasting T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman’s passing is sensitive, yet introducing a new variant could offer an actor the opportunity to bring their own interpretation to the character while respecting Boseman’s legacy.
