Xbox Game Pass Loses 8 Hit Games Including Yakuza and MLB This March!

February was a great month for Xbox Game Pass, with the service launching “Avowed” on its first day, which appears to be a big hit, and “Balatro” joining it at the end of the month. This addition makes Game Pass one of the most highly-rated games of 2024. However, as always, there’s a catch; Xbox has announced that several games will be leaving the service on March 16th. Every month, some older titles depart, but this particular set of games is significant and may disappoint some subscribers. The following games are due to leave in two weeks:

* “Game Title 1”
* “Game Title 2”
* “Game Title 3”
* “Game Title 4

  • Evil West
  • Lies of P
  • MLB The Show 24
  • No More Heroes 3
  • Solar Ash
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated
  • Yakuza 5 Remastered
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life

Essentially, we’re experiencing some substantial departures from our service. The exit of Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 isn’t unexpected given that Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 were withdrawn at the end of February. However, the losses of Lies of P and MLB The Show 24 might dismay quite a few subscribers, as MLB The Show 25 will only be available on Xbox, not on our service. This means that if you’re seeking a baseball-themed game here, you’ll either need to buy the current game (now discounted in the Microsoft Store) or wait and pay full price for the new game when it launches on March 18th.

At the moment, Xbox has yet to disclose which games will fill the void left by departures. Typically, they unveil their plans for the first half of a month on the first Tuesday. This suggests we might hear some news on March 4th. Interestingly, this date also marks a significant day for Microsoft and Activision, as they have a major Tony Hawk announcement planned. It’s rumored to be a remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. Since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 isn’t currently part of Xbox Game Pass, it could potentially be added on March 4th. But for now, this is just speculation!

As we move forward into the latter part of the year, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have some thrilling additions to look forward to. In May alone, Xbox Game Pass will welcome at least two day-one releases. The action-packed game DOOM: The Dark Ages is set to arrive on May 15th, while the lesser-known but intriguing To a T will debut on May 28th. While To a T might not be as widely recognized as DOOM, fans of the Katamari series may find it worth keeping an eye on, given that it is the latest creation from designer Keita Takahashi.
