It’s hard to believe, but we’re already halfway through the intense DC Comics fighting tournament! Darkseid is on the verge of taking over the DC Universe, and the only hope of stopping him lies in winning the Heart of Apokolips – a prize earned through a ruthless competition. To survive, fighters must embrace their darker sides and prove they can be as unforgiving as the tyrannical Darkseid. After months of intense battles, only eight heroes and villains remain.
The latest issue of DC K.O. reveals the matchups for round three, including exciting fights like Superman versus Green Lantern Guy Gardner and Joker versus Zatanna. While it’s usually easy to predict the winners, DC K.O. isn’t a typical competition. Nevertheless, we can still make informed predictions about each fight. Keep reading to see the round three pairings and who we think will win!
4. Lex Luthor vs. Aquaman (Winner: Lex)

I’ve always felt Aquaman didn’t get the respect he deserved, even before the movie. However, I’m not sure I’m rooting for him in this competition. Lex Luthor just seems perfectly suited for something that requires ruthlessness, and I’m certain he has some underhanded tactics planned – remember when he injured Superman in DC K.O. #2? Aquaman will definitely fight hard, but I think Lex will advance to the semi-finals alongside Superman.
3. Wonder Woman vs. Cyborg (Winner: Wonder Woman)

It’s tough to pick between these two, as both Wonder Woman and Cyborg are deserving of a spot in the semifinals. However, I’m leaning towards Wonder Woman. She’s likely the most skilled fighter in the DC Universe, and her experience battling gods and monsters far exceeds Cyborg’s time as a hero. While Cyborg could definitely give her a challenge, I believe Wonder Woman will ultimately rely on her fierce determination and strength to win.
2. Zatanna vs. Joker (Winner: Joker)

Let’s be clear: I recognize Zatanna is incredibly powerful, arguably the most powerful magic user in the DC Universe. However, her recent battle with Harley Quinn showed us she’s capable of raw strength, and we can’t count out the Joker. He excels in unpredictable situations, and this contest, despite the rules, actually gives him an advantage. More importantly, this story needs a truly dangerous villain, and the idea of the Joker potentially gaining power comparable to Darkseid is terrifying and raises the stakes considerably.
1. Superman vs. Guy Gardner (Winner: Superman)

It’s pretty clear Superman would win against Guy, and it’s not even close. While Guy might tap into his aggressive side faster, Superman is also discovering his own inner strength and willingness to fight brutally, as the writer of the comic series has pointed out. It won’t be easy for Superman, because he doesn’t want to harm his friends, but given the serious consequences, I believe he’ll push himself to the limit and ultimately win the fight.
