Unlike most foes who go after my party directly, this guy focuses more on wreaking havoc in the arena. So, it’s not just about dishing out damage, but also learning how to adapt to a constantly changing battlefield while still managing to deal some serious blows!

In our previous discussion, we referred to King Khanzaizin as a formidable opponent who aims to conquer you through manipulating the battlefield’s terrain. Therefore, it is crucial to pay close attention to the arena’s design before engaging in combat. The battleground is structured as a circular platform divided into three concentric rings, with each ring further segmented into twelve slices. King Khanzaizin remains stationary on the platform’s center throughout the fight.

You can alternatively descend to the lower part of the arena by falling from the platform, but be aware that this area causes continuous damage. Fortunately, numerous geysers dot the lower region. If you happen to fall, stand on a geyser and wait for it to erupt. The eruption will catapult you high enough to return to the main platform.

The fundamental attack of this boss involves an explosion of fire, which is signaled by a fiery circle appearing under players’ feet. To evade it, simply move to another location before it explodes. While it can inflict moderate damage if you’re caught in the blast, it’s not particularly dangerous.

Alright, now that we’ve got the fundamentals covered, let’s delve into each major move and trick this boss uses. Let’s do this!

Initially, it’s crucial to understand this: The game’s main character (the boss) will focus on the player who is at the most distance, marking them with a black and red line. This selected player becomes stationary and can no longer move. Subsequently, after a brief pause, a meteor impacts the marked player.

Regrettably, the impact from the meteor is inevitable for the player who’s rooted. Yet, the harm can be reduced substantially by having more party members nearby them. In other words, if you’re not the one being targeted, it would be wise to hasten to the aid of your affected comrade. This action will distribute the damage among all the players who get hit, making a difference in the total damage taken.

Be careful, because when the meteor strikes, it could ignite the spot on the platform where it hits. If you stay there, you’ll suffer continuous damage!

It’s best if one player positions themselves near the edge of the platform, acting as a decoy for the attack. They should ensure that the meteor hits only damaged or already burning slices, thereby limiting the spread of the fire and making the battle easier to handle.

Wrath and Fury

Immediately following King Khanzaizin unleashing his meteor attack with the black line, he will perform a sequence of three Wrath attacks. Typically, these attacks will strike two out of the three rings supporting the platform, which are highlighted in purple. However, they consistently follow this pattern: the impact sites are always arranged in a specific pattern.

  • First attack will hit the central and middle rings.
  • Second attack will hit the middle and outer rings.
  • The third and final attack will hit the central and outer rings.

Should any of these attacks strike you, promptly dash towards the geyser locations we discussed earlier and utilize it to bounce back onto the platform, as it will help mitigate the heavy damage!

To dodge this initial attack from the boss, it’s best to execute a Perfect Evasion. After that, just move away from the purple highlights to dodge the next two attacks.

Immediately following the three Wrath attacks, here are two events to be aware of: Firstly, the flames sparked by the previous meteor strike will engulf the neighboring sections of the arena. It’s advisable to stay clear of these areas to avoid any potential harm.

Secondly, watch out for King Khanzaizin employing a Fury attack. Keep your eyes on the purple circle marker that signals this ability is about to be used, and if possible, perform a Perfect Block.

If you manage to ward off the assault, a protective shield in the form of a bubble barrier will encase your character. This will enable you to navigate the lower part of the arena without sustaining injury since it’s where the fires are located, and you can use this opportunity to extinguish them.

Firefighting

In case you weren’t expecting to assume the role of a firefighter during your encounter with the King Khanzaizin boss in Throne & Liberty within the Rancorwood, we’re guessing this comes as quite a shock. For the upcoming move, it’s advisable that you leap from the platform and descend to the lower area once you acquire the protective bubble barrier. However, remember to only execute this action if you manage to block the Fury attack!

Position yourself atop one of the geysers, and as the bubble barrier takes in the water, simply wait for the geyser to erupt, shooting you back up towards the primary platform.

Upon returning to the platform, approach any of the sections that appear to be ablaze. By doing so, you’ll extinguish the flames unintentionally, but at the cost of the protective bubble barrier. It is crucial for 2-3 players to perform this action in each round to prevent the entire platform from igniting after a few iterations.

Platform Breaker

In King Khanzaizin’s sequence of moves, the final one is an expansive, red-hued area attack that’s absolutely inescapable. However, it doesn’t inflict any harm.

In this scenario, the King Khanzaizin will single out a few random players by placing a red orb on them. Subsequently, he will attack the chosen players by shattering the sections of the platform they stand on, one after another. This action also causes those players to be launched upwards. To survive, they must quickly find their way back onto the platform, or else they’ll plummet down to the lower area!

Because we can’t stop the platform from getting damaged, our best course of action would be to group together near the pre-existing cracks, thus creating one large affected area instead of numerous small ones scattered across it. This approach makes dealing with the situation more manageable and efficient.

Additionally, make sure not to step off the platform when it’s marked or have two marked individuals stand on the same platform simultaneously. Violating this rule may cause King Khanzaizin to damage a piece of the platform at random.

As you progress, notice that the boss’s sequence remains unchanged, offering no variations. To succeed, be sure to tactfully navigate the flaming and damaged platforms, while focusing on defeating the boss with maximum damage output (DPS).
