In the game, Doshaguma Forest is a special mission assigned by Erik that differs from others. Instead of killing monsters like usual, this time you must catch one. It’s easy to catch the Doshaguma when you find it, but locating one can be tricky if luck isn’t on your side.

How To Start The Forest Doshaguma Side Quest

To initiate the side quest at Doshaguma Forest, first engage in conversation with Erik, who resides within the Scarlet Forest’s base camp. As you advance into the High Ranks and tackle post-game story missions, Erik will eventually relocate to the Scarlet Forest permanently, making him accessible for you to start this quest.

The task called “The Forest Doshaguma Quest” involves locating and capturing a Doshaguma within the Scarlet Forest region. Since there is no marker or listing on Alma’s quest counter, you’ll need to search diligently for the Doshaguma and successfully capture it by yourself.

If you want to find a Doshaguma immediately, go ahead! If not, you can always look at the Environment menu for information about when a Doshaguma might appear in the region. The Environment Forecast section of the map will provide this information.

How To Complete The Forest Doshaguma Side Quest

The objective of the quest in the Forest of Doshaguma involves weakening and subsequently capturing a monster. Be sure to pack an ample supply of Tranquil Bombs and a Shock Trap for the journey. Upon locating the Doshaguma within the Crimson Woodland, continue to deplete its health unless your Palico indicates that the monster is weakened.

If you find yourself lacking Tranquilizer Bombs or Shock Traps, you have the options of making them yourself or purchasing them from the Provisional Stockpile store.

It’s time for you to take action and unveil the trap, drawing the monster towards it. When Doshaguma gets trapped in the Shock Trap, swiftly toss two Tranq Bombs consecutively to secure its capture. Following this, you will need to return to Erik to deliver a report on your successful mission.

Rewards For Completing The Forest Doshaguma Side Quest

You may locate Erik at the Scarlet Forest’s base camp, but please note that his presence there could depend on your advancement in the game’s post-story events. If he’s not there when you visit, you’ll need to progress further in the post-game story until Erik returns to the Scarlet Forest base camp to finish this quest.

When you go back to Erik after completing the task, he’ll give you a total of 20 Tranquilizing Bombs and ten Large Dung Pods as your reward.
