Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a bit of a standalone story, focusing on Basim, a character players will recognize from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game details Basim’s training and rise within the Hidden Ones, showing him become a skilled assassin. It features a smaller, detailed map that brings back the series’ focus on parkour, and generally aims to recapture the feel of earlier Assassin’s Creed games – though it doesn’t always fully succeed. 27. Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5)

Beyond that, there’s plenty to keep you playing: the innovative Kameo system, the strategic Invasion mode (similar to a board game), and Tower mode which lets you delve deeper into the characters’ backgrounds. Though the fundamental fighting mechanics remain largely the same, this is easily one of the best Mortal Kombat games to date, and it’s sure to receive ongoing support with new content.

26. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PS5)

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla combines the best elements of both Origins and Odyssey. It shares Origins’ strong focus on story, but like Odyssey, it features deep RPG elements like character leveling, gear upgrades, and skill progression. You play as Eivor, a Viking warrior with prophetic visions, who journeys from Norway to build a new settlement in 9th-century England. The game boasts a massive, beautiful open world filled with things to discover, and while it’s easy to lose dozens of hours in its world, Valhalla’s story delivers some of the most compelling characters and moments in the entire Assassin’s Creed series.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to create your own dinosaur theme park? Jurassic World Evolution 2 lets you do just that, putting you in charge of building and managing a prehistoric resort. You’ll need to build shops and hotels to attract guests, but also keep everyone safe from the dinosaurs you’re breeding. This park-building game is packed with features, including a full story campaign and a free-form sandbox mode where you can create anything you imagine.

After a decade of development, Dead Island 2 delivers a fantastic zombie-killing experience. The game takes place in Los Angeles, letting you explore open areas while battling the undead with tons of weapons and skills.
