The Bitcoin Bonanza Continues: Michael Saylor’s Strategy Snaps Up 130 BTC!

And so, the grand farce of Michael Saylor’s Strategy continues, a Sisyphean endeavor to hoard the world’s most coveted cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. Like a moth to a flame, the company is drawn to the allure of BTC, even as the price teeters on the precipice of collapse.

On this, the 17th of March, a day like any other, Strategy announced its latest acquisition: a paltry 130 BTC, purchased for the sum of $10.7 million in cash. A trifling sum, indeed, compared to the $250 million spent on 21,454 BTC in August 2020, the company’s first foray into the world of cryptocurrency.

The acquisition was made possible by the proceeds from the “STRK ATM,” a program designed to raise up to $21 billion in fresh capital, which will no doubt be used to acquire even more BTC. Ah, the eternal cycle of accumulation!

With this latest purchase, Strategy now holds a grand total of 499,226 BTC, acquired at an aggregate purchase price of approximately $33.1 billion. The average purchase price? A mere $66,360 per BTC, inclusive of fees and expenses. A steal, if you will.

And yet, despite this latest acquisition, Strategy remains 774 BTC shy of its goal of holding 500,000 BTC. Ah, the agony of being so close, yet so far!

According to the Strategy website, the company’s Bitcoin yield now stands at a paltry 6.9%, a far cry from its lofty target of 15% for 2025. Ah, the perils of investing in a market as volatile as Bitcoin!

The Smallest Buy on Record

And so, we come to the pièce de résistance: the smallest BTC purchase on record by Strategy. A mere 130 BTC, purchased at a time when the price was hovering around $82,981 per BTC. A bargain, if you will.

Prior to this latest purchase, the smallest BTC purchase by Strategy was a 169 Bitcoin acquisition in August 2024. Ah, the memories!

So far in 2025, Strategy has acquired a grand total of 51,656 BTC in seven announced acquisitions. A veritable mountain of Bitcoin, if I do say so myself.

This is a developing story, and further information will be added as it becomes available. Or not. Who knows?
