‘Orcs vs. Humans’ action RPG Orken announced for PC

SIXMOREVODKA and Demagog Studio have revealed Orken, a new action RPG centered around a conflict between Orcs and Humans. The game is coming to PC through Steam, though a specific release date hasn’t been set. Players can try out a demo starting February 26th.

The new game, Orken, offers a realistic take on the classic Orcs versus Humans conflict, imagining it as a ‘Neanderthal Western.’ It combines a character-focused story similar to Mass Effect with challenging, strategic combat inspired by Dark Souls. The game’s visuals are bold and striking, taking cues from the style of Hi-Fi RUSH.

I’m so excited about this game! It’s amazing that SIXMOREVODKA is handling the world and how it looks – their style is incredible. And the gameplay, including all the combat, is being crafted by Demagog Studio, which is awesome because I loved their previous work. What’s really cool is that it’s set in this bigger universe created by Marko Djurdjevic, but you don’t need to know anything about that to enjoy this game – it’s designed to be its own complete experience.

Gameplay

Orken is an action adventure game inspired by titles like Dark Souls and Dragon’s Dogma. It features beautiful graphics based on the art of SIXMOREVODKA and challenging combat that requires careful stamina management.

Battle mysterious enemies with precise, challenging combat inspired by the Souls series. Use powerful special abilities on cooldown to enhance your standard attacks. Dodge quickly to avoid damage and carefully manage your stamina to create openings for counterattacks. Build up an enemy’s poise with each hit – stagger them, and then deliver a final blow when their health is low!

Choose Your Path

As you battle and explore, you’ll gain levels, unlocking new sections on Coltec’s “Atman” – a totem pole that shows his connection to the Spirit World. You can rotate these sections to turn abilities on or off, discovering powerful combinations when they line up. Some combinations will boost effects, while others will cancel them out.

As a fan, I’m really excited to shape Coltec’s story! I get to make choices for him during conversations and key moments, basically deciding how his fate unfolds. It’s cool because the characters actually react to what I do – I can build relationships and earn their trust, or mess things up and make enemies. That impacts what options I have later on, so I need to choose my friends wisely and keep a close eye on anyone who might be trouble.
