Embark Studios hasn’t yet shared a detailed plan for the future of ARC Raiders beyond next week, but there’s good news! A new area called “Toxic Swamp” will be available soon, offering a challenge similar to those found in games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring – even if you’re not a fan of those titles, you’ll find something to test your skills.
A Reddit user found a new challenge by changing their game date to January 19th and checking the Trials. It requires players to deliver Thermal Rocks, and it only appears on Toxic Swamp maps. Completing the challenge in these difficult conditions rewards players with twice the usual Rank Points.
But there’s more! A Redditor also found details about another event scheduled for the week of January 26th. Players will need to “keep air purifiers powered on” in Toxic Swamp maps, and they’ll earn double points for doing so. While details are still unconfirmed, Embark Studios is expected to announce or release this event soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
Toxic Swamp is the latest map condition added to the game, following the introduction of Cold Snap last month. Like Cold Snap, which damaged players caught in the storm, Toxic Swamp presents a new environmental hazard to contend with.
A new in-game event, called an Expedition, is coming soon after the first one, which was popular with over a million players who chose to start over. The developers at Embark want to encourage even more players to participate this time. You can find more details here.
