At present, American Dad is in its 21st season and initially aired on Fox before moving to cable network TBS. Regrettably, there are rumors circulating online that the Smith family’s tenure with TBS may be drawing to a close, suggesting a possible series finale could be imminent. However, there is a glimmer of hope as the Smith family’s story might not end completely: they still have a chance for continuation.

Based on TVLine’s report, it seems TBS won’t broadcast new episodes of “American Dad” any longer. This implies that the last fresh episode on this channel will air on Monday, March 24th. However, TBS plans to keep past seasons available until 2030. For now, if new episodes are produced, they won’t be aired on TBS. There’s a chance “American Dad” could find a new home on another network or streaming platform in the future, but for the time being, its fate remains uncertain.

American Dad: Hulu Bound?

Speculation suggests that “American Dad” might find its way onto Hulu in the future. This move could make sense given Hulu’s reputation for reviving animated shows. For instance, they have successfully resurrected series like Animaniacs and Futurama. By doing so, they aim to rekindle the enthusiasm of existing fans while also attracting new viewers. Given the enduring popularity of Seth MacFarlane’s works, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Smith family appear on a streaming platform, such as Hulu or another service, in the future.

Nevertheless, if indeed this marks the conclusion of “American Dad,” it has had an impressive run spanning over two decades since its debut in 2005. Few television series, be they animated or live-action, can boast such longevity. Although it may not have reached the same popularity peaks as “Family Guy,” the antics of Stan and his family have amassed a devoted fanbase who will likely rally to preserve the show from being taken off the air.
