Amber Portwood is looking forward to the day she can reconcile with her daughter Leah.
The reality TV personality from Teen Mom wrote an emotional missive to Leah, who is now 16, during their period of separation, expressing hope that one day she would be pardoned for her role in their troubled bond and they could reconnect.
Amber handed over a birthday present and a message to Gary Shirley, who is currently bringing up Leah together with his partner Kristina Shirley.
In her message, Amber expressed that today holds a unique significance for you. Even though distance separates us, you remain constantly in my heart, mind, and spirit. This sentiment was shared on the March 28 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
In a heartfelt manner, the 34-year-old expressed, “As a mother, the initial genuine emotion of love I felt was during your birth, and that bond remains unbroken even now. I’ll be here, waiting for you, forever. My affection for you surpasses any words I could possibly put to paper. Enjoy your 16th birthday!
To be honest, Amber’s words didn’t stir me deeply, for the fact remains that I’ve had only three encounters with her since my last birthday passed.
She went on, emphasizing, “It seems to me that it’s more significant than a single birthday present. To be honest, it doesn’t compensate for the entire year she wasn’t around, or any of the times prior to that.
For Leah, she continues to grapple with emotional challenges related to feelings of abandonment, a legacy from her history with Amber. Notably, Amber is the mother of their shared son James, aged 6, who was fathered by Andrew Glennon.
She shared with Gary and Kristina that it was around her 8th to 10th birthday when she first noticed Amber’s absence. She explained, “It doesn’t pain me that she isn’t here. Instead, it’s the fact that she should have been here, when she was expected to be, that bothers me.
Leah added, “It’s just an internal feeling that I’m gonna have forever, probably.”
Despite everything, Amber continues to strive for reconciliation. She expressed this sentiment to her brother Shawn Portwood, saying, “I just hope one day she can find it in her heart to forgive me,” during a heartfelt conversation. “I’m willing to wait as long as it takes.
In a private moment, I admitted that Leah’s childhood coincided with a period in my life when I was struggling the most.
Amber acknowledged that this is currently her reality, but she emphasized that she would continue to work hard to ensure it doesn’t stay this way in the future.

In 2009, viewers witnessed Catelynn Lowell and her partner Tyler Baltierra, now husband, facing a challenging decision to give their first-born daughter, Carly, up for adoption during the premiere season of ’16 and Pregnant’. After being together for 13 years, they tied the knot in August 2015. Since then, they have added three more daughters to their family: Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya.
Although I deeply miss Carly, who shares a home with her loving adoptive parents Brandon and Teresa Davis, I remain steadfast in my quest to build a brighter tomorrow for us all.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2025, Catelynn expressed that their bond “is whatever she desires.” She continued, “If she wishes to maintain a relationship with her biological siblings or us, great. If not, we get it. It’s all about her comfort and what works best for her, as it should be focused on the adoptee’s perspective.
In the first half of a year, Maci Bookout experienced difficulty with an unreliable partner Ryan Edwards on the show ’16 and Pregnant’. Despite getting engaged, this high school sweetheart couple separated just under a year after their son Bentley’s birth in 2008.
Currently, they are concentrating on establishing a harmonious co-parenting bond. Maci shared with TopMob News in 2023 that Ryan’s presence has become more regular, perhaps even more so than it ever was previously.
In 2012, Maci discovered her lifelong partner in Taylor McKinney from Texas, and they started expanding their team ever since. They became parents to daughter Jayde in May 2015 and son Maverick a year after, followed by their wedding in Florida in October of the same year.
2023 interview with TopMob News, she expressed, “My partner and I are teammates in life, parenthood, and our TTM Lifestyle brand. To put it simply, he’s my person. Despite the challenges we’ve faced together this year, I still stand by him. He’s someone I appreciate, and even when frustration arises, leading me to contemplate a punch in his direction, I’d rather resolve our differences with him or weather a tough time together than navigate life’s ups and downs without him.
Regardless of having new partners, the stars from MTV’s The Challenge maintain a shared responsibility in raising their child, Ryder, after their time on the show.
From the very start of Cory entering Ryder’s life, the main focus for us has been about what kind of father and parent Cory wanted to be, Cheyenne shared with TopMob News in March 2020. I didn’t want him to be a dad who only showed up at special occasions or just posted about it on social media. He had to fully commit. I believe from the start, he understood my approach and respected it, which is why our co-parenting works so well.
Following the end of their romance in 2018, they chose to rekindle their relationship. During her 28th birthday celebration, Cheyenne announced on Instagram that she was reunited with Zach. In May 2021, they were blessed with their first child, a son named Ace, and tied the knot in September 2022.
In an interview with TopMob News back in 2024, Cheyenne shared, “For the past two years, we’ve been crossing items off our bucket list. Our dream was to have a baby and that became a reality when we welcomed Ace into our family. We also longed for marriage, which we achieved with our beautiful wedding ceremony, and finally, we desired to own a house, and now we proudly call our purchased residence ours.
She added, “I’m not interested in taking on anything new. No setting of goals for me. Instead, I wish to rest, to find tranquility. My objective is simply to remain still and content with our current situation. To appreciate each other. That’s all I desire.
As a devoted fan, I can share that what began as filming for Ex on the Beach didn’t initially seem like the start of a romantic tale, but fast forward to today, Cory and Taylor Selfridge, a former contestant from Are You the One?, have built a beautiful life together, complete with two lovely daughters named Mila and Maya. Despite the passage of years, their story continues to make ripples.
In 2023, he disclosed to TopMob News that he had recently purchased a new home. He also acknowledged the curiosity surrounding his marriage plans, stating, “We are indeed discussing it. We’ve made all the preparations except for the ring and me proposing to her. Taylor deserves this special moment, and it’s something we both aspire to. At present, we’re simply working towards making it happen.
After his marriage to Mackenzie Standifer in May 2017, Ryan sought help at a rehabilitation center, and it so happened that their first child, Jagger, was born in 2018 while he was still undergoing treatment.
In early 2020, the couple joyfully welcomed daughter Stella into their family. However, three years after that, Mackenzie initiated a divorce proceeding. Currently, Ryan is betrothed to Amanda Conner, who’s anticipating the arrival of their first child together.
Despite their highly disputed relationship concluding permanently in 2013, this pair successfully shared parenting responsibilities of their now-adolescent child named Leah over a series of years.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2022, Amber shared, “We enjoy each other’s company from afar, yet our bond remains strong. Our connection has evolved into something more akin to a family, so we prioritize and care for it as such.
It’s true that families can have disagreements at times. Lately, it seems as though Amber and Gary might not get along too well based on her posts on social media, which suggest they have some issues between them.
Following several years as a couple, a proposal was made and a brief attempt on the reality show “Marriage Boot Camp”, but Matt Baier, who hails from Boston, and Amber parted ways in 2017 after their engagement ended.
On Dr. Drew Pinsky’s podcast, Amber admitted that at some point, she stopped being interested in the relationship because she had heard too many things and didn’t care anymore. She erected a barrier to protect herself from getting hurt again.
While shooting “Marriage Boot Camp”, Amber developed feelings for one of the crew members named Andrew Glennon. They first appeared as a couple at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards and welcomed their first child, James, in May 2018.
However, the pair parted ways shortly following Amber’s arrest on charges of domestic battery in July 2019. After a lengthy and challenging court case, California resident Andrew gained full legal and principal physical custody of their child in 2022.
The reality TV personality shared with TopMob News that they had put in tremendous effort towards self-improvement and strengthening their bond with their kids. Emphasizing their honesty about their history of substance abuse and mental health issues, they expressed the belief that everyone deserves a chance to make amends for their past mistakes and not be continuously defined by them.
With unwavering resolve, she said, “Even if your path hasn’t always been smooth, but you’ve striven to grow into a better, stronger, and more compassionate individual today, continue on your journey just as I will. Rest assured, I will never cease my fight for the children whom I cherish above all else.
Following an online encounter with Amber, Dimitri Garcia first appeared on “Teen Mom OG” in April 2020. On the show, Amber mentioned, “Dimitri is from Belgium and he’s 39 years old, making him 10 years my senior. However, he’s quite an attractive man.” She continued, “I gradually opened up to him, and we decided it was best to meet since we both felt a connection.
In April 2021, Amber openly discussed on the reunion special for Teen Mom OG that she was still in a relationship with Dimitri. She clarified, “We’ve been acquainted for about 18 months now, but I haven’t seen him for an entire year.” However, despite not making any formal breakup announcement, Amber presented a new romantic interest named Gary Wayt during a June 2024 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
After Amber linked up with Gary 2.0 via a dating app in autumn 2023, he came into focus when she presented him to her fellow ‘Teen Mom’ friends during an online gathering.
Despite his proposal in May 2024, their relationship didn’t last long. During her trip to North Carolina for her brother’s wedding in June, Gary left them following an argument, causing Amber to file a missing persons report.
And while Gary was soon located, the duo’s engagment wasn’t the only thing left broken.
Amber shared, during an episode of “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter“, that she spent three to four days believing her fiancé had passed away. She described the experience as dealing with the pain of losing him, trying to understand why such a thing could happen, and going through a difficult period in her life.
I’ve been rock-solid for ages, but this fellow has shaken me to my core. For the first time in years, I find myself off balance, and it’s all because he slipped a ring onto my finger.
Several months passed following the arrival of their daughter Emilee in April 2015, and subsequently, Gary married Kristina Anderson in a heartwarming beach ceremony.
In a 2022 Instagram post, Gary expressed, “Your soul is incredibly radiant and lovely, one of the finest I’ve encountered. I can’t imagine navigating life without your presence.
In December 2008, two months before Sophia was born, the man who would be Farrah Abraham’s daughter’s father tragically passed away in an accident.
In the time following the demise of her high school sweetheart, Farrah had an intermittent relationship lasting more than two years with Simon Saran, a real estate professional.
Despite their 2017 parting becoming quite contentious, they made an effort, albeit tentatively, to maintain a friendship.
Simon expressed to TopMob News that he holds no grudges against Farrah. He explained that they come from distinct spheres, with Farrah preferring a fabricated existence, while he seeks authenticity. Despite their differences, he hopes for her continued prosperity and success in all her future endeavors.
Jenelle Evans and Andrew Lewis, who are Jace’s parents, parted ways shortly after his birth in 2009, with Jenelle having minimal participation in her son’s upbringing.
Jenelle pondered during a 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, saying, “I can’t help but feel sorry that he’s Jace’s father. However, I’ve seen his behavior, and I don’t want him to let my son down by coming in and out of his life.
Following a one-year marriage with Courtland Rogers and the birth of her second child, Kaiser, from an earlier relationship with Nathan Griffin in 2014, Jenelle later married David Eason on their North Carolina property in September 2017, approximately eight months after they had their daughter, Ensley.
Following a difficult period, David was accused and charged with a minor child abuse offense concerning Jace. Jenelle described it as a malicious campaign against him. She later disclosed that they had parted ways. Jenelle stated on her social media platform that she would have opted for a divorce immediately, but due to the laws in North Carolina, you must legally separate for a year before filing for one and also provide evidence of two distinct residences.
Recall the man who once inquired from his former girlfriend, “When can I officially transfer ownership of that error – Chelsea Houska?” (This is a reference to the MTV show Teen Mom 2 where this line was spoken.)
Completely in the rearview.
Despite the long odds, the former Teen Mom star-turned-HGTV personality maintains a surprisingly amicable bond with her high school ex, Adam Lind, who is Aubree’s father. As she shared with Us Weekly, “There’s no negative energy and it’s just an open relationship.” She added, “We have no ill feelings towards each other, and we occasionally meet up, and everything is perfectly fine.
In 2014, Chelsea and Cole DeBoer’s chance encounter at a gas station blossomed into an eternal bond when they got married in October 2016. Since then, they have expanded their family with the birth of their son Watson in 2017, followed by daughters Layne in 2018 and Walker in 2021. Recently, this loving couple embarked on a new venture together, creating their HGTV series titled Down Home Fab.
Speaking with TopMob News, Chelsea expressed her intentions for their potential return to TV. She wanted it to be a positive and fun experience, allowing them to express their genuine personalities. In her words, “This was an incredibly appealing chance to make that happen.
Initially friends and later spouses, Leah Messer and Corey Simms, aspired to make their relationship a lifelong commitment. However, just six months following their October 2010 wedding, the parents of twins Aleeah and Aliannah chose to part ways and filed for divorce.
Corey has been married to Miranda Patterson since 2013.
In 2012, Leah got married to Jeremy Calvert, and the following year, they had a baby girl named Adalynn.
Or:
Leah tied the knot with Jeremy Calvert in 2012, and the following year, their little girl Adalynn arrived.
Despite parting ways in 2015, they’ve strived diligently to co-parent their daughter, with outcomes that are not always smooth. Leah shared her feelings about this experience with TopMob News: “I see the best version of myself reflected back at me,” she said. “Watching them indulge in what brings them joy and being there for them as they grow is nothing short of enchanting. I adore it. I cherish being a mom, particularly a mother to girls.
In 2021, when I personally made it official on Instagram with Jaylan Mobley, this esteemed Army officer had already won over not just me but also my children with his charm.
The couple announced their engagement in August 2022, but broke up that October.
A year ago, the ‘Teen Mom’ celebrity admitted to TopMob News that she needed her breakup. Reflecting on it now, she’s realized a great deal about herself from that relationship. As she moves forward, she feels as though a new chapter in her life is just starting.
Kailyn Lowry had her first child, Isaac, with her high school sweetheart Jo Rivera when she was only 17 years old back in 2010.
Despite parting ways a year later, they have now established a harmonious coparenting relationship. Interestingly, Kailyn teamed up with Jo’s wife, Vee Torres, on her canceled podcast called “Baby Mamas No Drama“. In a post on X, Kailyn reflected, “We’ve come a long way since we were 18. I couldn’t ask for a better stepmom for Isaac.
In November 2013, Kailyn’s second child, Lincoln, became part of the team. This was about a year after Kailyn, then a prominent figure on the show Teen Mom 2, got married to Lincoln’s father, Javi Marroquin.
After separating in late 2016, their relationship has experienced ups and downs at various points. Javi and his fiancée Lauren Comeau, who are already parents to a son named Eli, revealed in December 2023 that they were expecting another child together – this time a girl.
Despite having sons Lux and Creed together with partner Chris Lopez during their off-again, on-again relationship, Kailyn eventually decided to end things permanently.
In 2020, I shared with TopMob News that our communication is currently nonexistent. I’m optimistically looking forward to improvement over time, but I don’t have a grand plan or any preconceived notions. I choose to remain positive and hopeful for our kids, trusting that things will sort themselves out in the best possible way.
With her current partner Elijah Scott, Kailyn now feels she has a solid base. As she explained to People magazine, Elijah is unlike any of her previous partners or the fathers of her children. “He’s quite different,” she said about Elijah, who is the father of her son Rio and twins Verse and Valley. “He works with concrete, getting his hands dirty at work. Yet, he’s also a genuine family man. He’s deeply connected with his own family as well as ours, making him an excellent partner for me. I believe our partnership is a good fit.
A strong enough one that she finally said yes to one of his many proposals, in fact.
In a conversation with TopMob News in September 2024, Kailyn emphasized that her neighbor-turned-spouse repeatedly proposed marriage to her, and she never said “no.” Instead, she explained, “I would simply respond, ‘Yes, but not just yet.’
Though she admitted that the construction worker had indeed influenced her opinion about marriage, Kailyn didn’t immediately plan on buying a wedding dress. Laughingly, she said, “Whether or not we get married depends on the mood I’m in when you ask me today.
Despite facing numerous highs and lows since the birth of their daughter Kloie in 2017, Indiana residents Jade Cline and Sean Austin hinted to followers in January 2022 that they were experiencing a positive turn of events.
She shared with TopMob News that our lives underwent significant changes, and there were substantial advancements in Sean’s life too, as well as his future prospects. I’m incredibly proud of him and where we are now. Eight months later, we announced our engagement, tying the knot in October 2023.
In 2024, Jade admitted to TopMob News that her relationship isn’t flawless all the time. However, she emphasized that their love keeps them going, and they manage to make things function smoothly despite the challenges.
In the year 2021, long-time Californian residents Ashley Jones and Bar Smith exchanged vows in a private ceremony. Four years prior to that, they had become parents to their beautiful daughter, Holly.
But after calling off their romance several times, Ashley officially filed for divorce in 2024.
After more than a decade since 16 and Pregnant star Briana DeJesus and Devoin Austin II became parents to their daughter Nova in 2011, there were signs that they might rekindle their relationship.
Currently, Briana shared with TopMob News in 2024, “What I’m seeking now is a genuine adult companion, not the youthful partners I was accustomed to dating in the past.
Following her stint on the one season of ‘Teen Mom 3’, Briana subsequently became a cast member of ‘Teen Mom 2’ in its eighth series, and welcomed her second daughter, Stella, with former partner Luis Miguel, on July 2017.
After that point, Luis has been inconsistently participating, to put it mildly. In a December 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, Briana clarified to Dr. Drew, “I believe he desires a family with me, but since I’m not providing that, he just wants to distance himself entirely.
