Jason Kelce Slams Philadelphia Eagles’ “Unacceptable” Playoffs Exit

Jason Kelce is not happy about the Philadelphia Eagles’ latest fumble.

After the Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers 29-23 on January 11th, ending their playoff run, the former center didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts on how the team could have played better.

He acknowledged the team’s offense didn’t play well this year. Speaking on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown on January 12th, he pointed out that despite having the league’s highest-paid offensive players, their performance was only average, which he considered unacceptable.

The retired NFL player, who spent 13 years with the Philadelphia team before retiring in 2024, blamed their loss on a lack of focus from the players. He simply stated, “They had opportunities to win yesterday, but they didn’t make the necessary plays. That’s all I’m going to say about it.”

Now retired from playing, the 38-year-old has openly discussed the impact of public life on his family, including his daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 9 months, who he shares with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Jason explained that being a public figure has changed things, especially when he’s out in public. He noted that this impacts not only him, but his wife and entire family as well. He stated, “I’m all over television, and my face, in particular, is much more out there. In a lot of ways, going out into public is much different for not just me but my wife, my whole family.”

Jason and his brother, Travis Kelce, have recently become very well-known. This is thanks to the popularity of their podcast, New Heights, and also because Travis is dating Taylor Swift.

Despite all the attention they’re receiving, Jason believes he and Kylie are staying grounded and won’t let their family become affected by their newfound fame.

He explained that they make a real effort to live as normally as possible, though it’s getting more difficult. They’re adapting and finding ways to manage, even enjoying outings like trips to Disney World, where they might just take a little extra time for photos in certain spots.

Even though his future sister-in-law is used to public attention, Jason keeps their relationship private and focused on family, not work.

He explained they’ve intentionally avoided getting too involved in their sibling-in-law’s relationship. He simply appreciates her role as his brother’s future wife and aunt to his children, and they both want to keep that connection separate and healthy.

In October 2019, Jason and Kylie Kelce had their first child, a daughter named Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce.

Their second daughter Elliotte Ray Kelce joined the family two years later.

A year after Elliotte was born, Kylie announced she was expecting another baby, sharing a sweet photo to reveal the news.

The couple had their third child in February 2023, just a couple of weeks after Jason played against his brother, Travis Kelce, in the 2023 Super Bowl.

In May 2023, Jason posted a photo on Instagram of his oldest daughters with a championship trophy, expressing his disbelief and excitement: “I never imagined I’d be holding the Larry O’Brien trophy, especially not in my own home!”

It was amazing to see the trophy up close,” he said. “It’s surprisingly large – it looks small when NBA players hold it, but it’s actually huge! My daughters were really fascinated by it too.”

In August 2023, a family of five enjoyed some fun activities, as Kylie shared on Instagram, playfully mentioning they were there for Rita’s Italian Ice and obstacle courses with their dad after practice.

Jason and Kylie celebrated Wyatt’s fourth birthday in October 2023 with a special party held at the Philadelphia Eagles’ stadium. Kylie shared on Instagram that the celebration happened while the Eagles were on a four-game winning streak.

In June 2024, Kylie posted a photo on Instagram of her sons, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, with the caption, “Parents get it – two out of three isn’t bad!”

Jason’s mother, Donna Kelce, shared a sweet message, calling her grandchildren a ‘cute and beautiful bunch of lucky charms’ under a rainbow.

Jason and Kylie welcomed their fourth baby girl Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce on March 30, 2025.

Kylie craddled her Finn in her arms after the baby’s March 2025 arrival.

Little Finn rocked a floral onesie shortly after she was born in the hospital.

The Philadelphia Eagles alum held newborn Finnley close in an Instagram photo shared in April 2025.
