Is there a new romance brewing in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center?
Dr. McKay (Fiona Dourif) is left wondering why her colleague, Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle), suddenly acted so strangely in the emergency room, especially since it happened after meeting Noelle Hastings, a new character played by Meta Golding.
Robby originally planned to send McKay’s patient to surgery, but he changed his mind at the last moment. This happened when Hastings, a new nurse responsible for dealing with the hospital’s constant overcrowding, intervened – and used a surprisingly familiar nickname for the doctor in charge.
In a preview of the January 15th episode of the HBO show, Hastings initially tells a man to hold off on an order, then quickly corrects herself, addressing him as “Dr. Robinavitch,” according to TopMob News.
Robby is starting to feel a little uneasy around some of the new doctors at the hospital, especially Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), who briefly filled his position. However, he seems to be getting along better with Hastings.
“You can call me Robby,” he tells her, prompting Hasting to say, “You can call me Noelle.”
McKay was confused by their playful teasing. She directly asked them, “Can someone just explain what’s happening?”
When Hastings says she’s moving the patient to a different hospital, Robby—who strongly dislikes paperwork getting in the way of treatment—supports her decision, which confuses McKay even further.
She asked directly what she was overlooking, then wondered if she hadn’t realized there was more to the situation.
However, Hastings assures her that the situation is “just a simple insurance transfer.”
McKay frowned and gave a curt, insincere “Yeah, OK” before turning and walking away from Robby and Hastings.

McKay is understandably a bit wary, and for good reason. Robby and Dr. Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) had a brief romantic connection years prior, before she shared personal details about her abortion and miscarriage during the first season of The Pitt. Ifeachor left the show last summer.
In a recent interview with People, Wyle, who is also a producer on the show, explained that Collins and Robby weren’t meant to be together. He felt Robby couldn’t have given Collins what she truly needed.
He explained that she was incredibly successful and on a clear path upwards, and he would have only held her back. He expressed his happiness for her and wished her well.
You can watch new episodes of The Pitt on HBO and HBO Max every Thursday. The show has been renewed for a third season, and if you’re curious about the status of other TV series, keep reading to find out!

Netflix revealed on January 9th that “Black Mirror,” the anthology series created by Charlie Brooker, will be back for a new eighth season.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m losing it! Noah Wyle is coming back as Dr. Robby Robbinavitch for season three of The Pitt! I was seriously worried, but HBO Max officially confirmed it yesterday – right before the season two premiere! We have to wait until 2026, which feels like forever, but it’s happening! I’m already counting down the days!

Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s happening! Lee Raybon – Ethan Hawke, seriously, that man is a gift – is coming back to Tulsa! They just confirmed a second season of that incredible show, and I’m losing it! More mystery, more corruption, and more of Lee digging into the secrets of that town… I can’t wait to see what he uncovers next. January 7th was the best day ever, honestly!

The popular Paramount+ series has been renewed for one last season – its fifth – and will then conclude, the streaming service announced on January 5th.

Hello, season six! Emily in Paris has been renewed for a sixth season, just two weeks after the release of its fifth season on Netflix.
