For Scott Shriner, the show must go on.
On April 12, the bassist from Weezer took to the stage at Coachella, mere days after his wife, Jillian Lauren, was involved in an “officer-involved shooting” on April 8, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing an update that recently unfolded: In response to a request from the California Highway Patrol, law enforcement officers were called upon to track down three individuals involved in a hit-and-run incident, who subsequently made their way into L.A.’s Eagle Rock neighborhood. During the process of securing the area, an officer noticed an individual identified as Jillian Shriner (formerly known as Jillian), brandishing a handgun within a nearby dwelling.
In a police report dated April 9th, it was stated that the officers repeatedly instructed Shriner to relinquish her handgun, but she chose not to comply. Later, Shriner aimed her gun at the officers, leading to an incident involving officer firearms.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this chilling incident. In 2005, the renowned true crime author who became my beloved Scott’s partner was struck by gunfire. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment on injuries that thankfully weren’t fatal. This event served as another stark reminder of the dangerous path I’ve chosen in delving into the world of true crime.
Authorities later found out that Shriner had nothing to do with the hit-and-run incident, and instead resided at the location where she was spotted. However, she was charged with an attempt on someone’s life, although she wasn’t present when the charges were formally filed.
Over the weekend, it was Weezer’s turn to perform at the Mojave tent on Saturday, having been unexpectedly added to the festival lineup on April 5th. On the following weekend, Ed Sheeran will take the stage in the same location.
Besides Weezer’s bandmates, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, Travis Scott are also making their way to Indio, California. These stars will be headlining the event, while Charli XCX, T-Pain, and an additional artist identified as ‘c’ have been scheduled to perform.

12 tunes were played on stage, with their popular numbers like “My Name Is Jonas,” “Island in the Sun,” and “Buddy Holly” included. Additionally, they performed a rendition of Metallica’s hit song “Enter Sandman.
The alternative rock group graced the festival stage on three separate occasions, specifically in the years 2001, 2005, and more recently, 2019. During their performance in 2019, Weezer made a striking entrance by performing “Beverly Hills” in a barbershop-quartet style. Later on in that set, TLC’s Chilli joined them to sing “No Scrubs,” and Tears for Fears also took the stage to play “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
Apart from the members of Weezer, many other artists are making their way to Indio, California, including Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott. These four acts will be headlining, while Charli XCX, T-Pain, and Clairo have been scheduled as performers.
