Binance’s CZ Denies Being a Federal Reserve Secret Agent (Spoiler: He’s Not!)

So, here we go again. Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, the founder and former CEO of Binance, has had to slap down another ridiculous rumor that he’s secretly working for the US Federal Reserve. Because, sure, why not? The claim started circulating after a Chinese influencer, who shall remain as mysterious as their sources, made it public during an X Spaces chat. The event had thousands of listeners, probably all just waiting for the next crazy conspiracy theory to drop. 🎧🤦‍♂️

Binance Founder Smacks Down Federal Reserve Conspiracy

Here’s the deal: it all started with an X post from a Chinese influencer who goes by the handle Liangxihgui (yes, *that* name). This influencer, armed with what we assume is a healthy dose of imagination, claimed that CZ’s legal troubles in the US were all part of an elaborate plot. And, apparently, CZ is moonlighting as a secret agent for the US Federal Reserve. (Because of course, that’s how global finance works, right? 🤷‍♂️)

Naturally, the internet ate it up. A whopping 119,000 listeners tuned in to the X Spaces session. I mean, who wouldn’t want to hear about this juicy, made-up drama? 🤫

But CZ wasn’t having it. He quickly took to his own X account to shut it down like an internet hero. He posted a screenshot of the original message and casually pointed out that, while the story was “amusing,” it was also 100% false. So, you know, no biggie. He also cleared up the whole jail thing, confirming that yes, he did serve four months in US prison. For real. From May to September 2024. Anti-money laundering violations, but no big deal. Just another Tuesday, right? 🏛️

WSJ Smear Campaign? CZ Calls BS!

Before this latest rumor about him being a secret Fed operative, CZ had to deal with another wild claim. Apparently, he was allegedly working with the US Department of Justice to target fellow crypto bigwig Justin Sun. This spicy tidbit came courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, which reported that Binance execs were in cahoots with the DOJ to collect evidence against Sun. But, surprise surprise, CZ was not having any of that either. He shot down the rumor, calling it a smear campaign funded by whoever was paying the WSJ to spread lies. Because, hey, why not throw the media under the bus while you’re at it? 🔥

Justin Sun, being the good friend he is, also jumped in to say he knew nothing about it, so there’s that. Meanwhile, CZ humorously noted that rumors like these are basically a dime a dozen, often started by influencers who are just trying to grow their follower count. Classic. One of his followers even joked that if CZ were actually working for the Federal Reserve, Bitcoin would be at an all-time high right now. 😂

CZ Focuses on YZi Labs and Giggle Academy

Post-prison CZ is apparently done with the drama and has moved on to bigger and better things. Now that he’s no longer CEO of Binance (someone had to step down, right?), he’s focusing on new ventures. One of these is YZi Labs, the rebranded Binance Labs, where CZ is now holding a key leadership position.

And, in what may be the most delightful plot twist of all, he’s also been working on something called Giggle Academy—an educational platform aimed at young students. It’s like the world’s most unexpected turn in the crypto story. CZ first announced the project before he went to prison, and the app for younger children went live in December 2024. Apparently, the guy who survived prison and crypto chaos is now all about helping kids learn. 🌟

So, it looks like the future of CZ is going to be all about education, and maybe a little less about being an undercover operative for the US government. Let’s hope. 😅
