Lucasfilm chief creative officer Dave Filoni discusses fans’ biggest complaint.
Filoni explained that fans find it enjoyable to discover connections between different parts of the series. While some links may not be intended by the creators, there are indeed intended ones. His role is to ensure consistency and cohesion across the entire narrative. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance in the storyline without overburdening viewers with excessive knowledge requirements. Filoni believes that people often unnecessarily worry about understanding every detail, and instead, they should simply enjoy the story.
For years now, I’ve been privileged to be deeply ingrained in the expansive Star Wars universe, having joined Lucasfilm back in 2008 to contribute to both the feature film and series of the acclaimed animated show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. My creations, such as Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, have become beloved characters among fans, playing significant roles in shaping the current lineup of popular Star Wars shows on Disney+. Recently, I’ve been entrusted with an exciting new project that will tie together The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka – a challenge I eagerly embrace. Although details about this project remain scarce at the moment, I can hardly wait to share more as soon as it’s possible.
Big News Is Coming Out of Star Wars Celebration
2022’s Star Wars Celebration has been bursting with amazing fresh revelations and declarations. One of the most significant among these was the unveiling of a brand-new movie, titled “Untitled Star Wars Film” by director Shawn Levy and acting legend Ryan Gosling. Levy shared his thoughts on the film, stating, “There’s been lots of speculation, some accurate, some not… This isn’t a prequel or a sequel. It’s a fresh journey.” The movie is rumored to unfold several years after the happenings in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and will introduce us to an almost entirely new group of characters who are quite distinct from the usual themes and archetypes of the Star Wars franchise.
