Surprisingly, Sony has suddenly announced that the game “Ghost of Yotei” will be available for PlayStation 5 on 2nd October 2025. A fresh trailer for this game is now accessible (you can view it above).
The trailer is called The Onryo’s List, and it serves as the story setup for the game:
16 years past in the core of what’s now known as Hokkaido, a bandit group named the Yōtei Six robbed Atsu of everything. They murdered her family, abandoning her for dead, fastened to a blazing ginkgo tree outside her residence. However, Atsu endured. She mastered combat, assassination, and hunting, and after many years away, she has come back to her home, armed with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
The saga of retribution follows Atsu as she seeks to avenge her family using the very katana that once impaled her onto a flaming tree long ago. However, Atsu’s narrative doesn’t solely revolve around vengeance; rather, it expands beyond that as she delves deeper into Ezo, forming surprising alliances and fostering connections that instill in her a renewed sense of meaning and direction.
