KILL in 3 Steps: Unlock Shadowhunt Bow in Oblivion Remastered’s Dark Brotherhood Quest

Once you become part of the Dark Brotherhood in Obliivion Remastered, Vicente Valtieri will give you your first set of assignments. However, following a few missions, the vampire will direct you to Ocheeva for further progress within the Dark Brotherhood’s ranks. Here, you will be presented with the “The Lonely Wanderer” contract.

In the game “Oblivion Remastered“, this task asks players to track down a High Elf in the Imperial City and eliminate him. To earn an extra reward, you need to slay Faelian in a protected area. This comprehensive guide titled “The Lonely Wanderer” walkthrough will lead players through each step of completing this contract, from initiating the quest, locating Faelian, and ensuring his death in a secure spot to obtain the bonus.

How To Start “The Lonely Wanderer” Quest

In the game “Oblivion Remastered,” the quest titled “The Lonely Wanderer” is the fifth part of the Dark Brotherhood mission line. To get a hold of this quest, gamers need first to become members of the Dark Brotherhood and then successfully accomplish all four missions assigned by Vicente Valtieri. Upon finishing “The Assassinated Man,” where players are tasked with staging the demise of Francois Motierre, Valtieri will guide you to Ocheeva for further assignments.

In simpler terms, Ocheeva is an Argonian who lives within the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. You’ll often find her engrossed in reading or seated at a table in a room adjacent to the main hall, just prior to reaching Vicente Valtieri’s hideout at the rear of the sanctuary.

How To Complete “The Lonely Wanderer” & Get The Contract Bonus

Living within the grand Imperial City resides an Elf of noble birth, whose elimination is necessary. The quest to locate this individual might present some difficulties. Would you be intrigued by such a task?

In the “The Lone Traveler’s Journey,” your task is to track down and eliminate a High Elf called Faelian. However, here’s the catch: Faelian is quite evasive, and Ocheeva isn’t aware of his current location.

To receive the bonus, ensure you assassinate Faelian in a confidential spot, avoiding the scrutiny of Captain Adamus Phillida who is wary of Dark Brotherhood operations. Caution should be taken to avoid being discovered during this act or killing Faelian in an unsecured location, as doing so will result in forfeiting your bonus.

Step One: How To Find Faelian

As an enthusiastic player of Oblivion Remastered, here’s how I would track down Faelian: Start by venturing to the Elven Gardens district within the Imperial City. Engage any Elf NPCs you encounter, inquiring if they have any information about Faelian. Don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation with shopkeepers as well. Persevere, and eventually, you’ll uncover that Faelian has taken up residence at the Tiber Septim Hotel, nestled within the Talos Plaza District.

Make your way to Talos Plaza District within the Imperial City and seek out Tiber Septim Hotel, located centrally in its subzone, not far from the fountain. Chat with the innkeeper to discover that Faelian is temporarily lodging with a female companion in one of their rooms, but his stay here is limited to just a few hours each night.

You might stumble upon Faelian unexpectedly since he frequently traverses between his hotel room and Lorkmir’s House, spending a significant amount of time there during the day. However, it’s important to note that this location remains locked until later in your quest, and Faelian won’t appear until you initiate the relevant part of the storyline.

Step Two: Find Skooma For Faelian

When you encounter Faelian, engage him in conversation and it won’t take long to understand that his mind has been ravaged by a powerful Skooma addiction. Eventually, he may ask if you have any Skooma on hand, as he implies he could be your friend immediately.

Resist the urge to burst out laughing at Faelian’s comical dialogue style, then find some Skooma and offer it to him before approaching him again. Remember, you have the option to eliminate Faelian anytime during the mission to fulfill your contract, but if you’re interested in a reward and a special item, make sure to kill him in a safe area. Faelian will only accompany you to a secure spot when he trusts you, which he’ll do once you provide him with Skooma.

There are two locations you can get Skooma easily:

  • Head to Bravil at around midnight, and look for an NPC named Nordinor in an alleyway on the north side of town. Each bottle of Skooma costs more than 100 Gold for players with a low Mercantile skill or low Disposition, so make sure you have enough.
  • Alternatively, you can head straight to Lorkhan’s House, a location that Faelian has turned into a Skooma den. Later in the quest, Faelian will invite you back here, but you can break in early and steal the Skooma on the table to fulfill this portion of the quest. You can pickpocket the key to Lorkmir’s House from Faelian in the Hotel.

Step Three: Find A Secure Location To Kill Faelian

Once you’ve got some Skooma, make your way to the Tiber Septim Hotel. Don’t enter the building, though. Instead, wait until the early hours of the morning, around 3 or 4 a.m., and look out for Faelian leaving the hotel. You can either intercept him as he exits the hotel or find him along his usual route. Once you spot him, hand over your Skooma to him.

Faelian asks, “Since we’re now pals, would you care to join me? I’d like to show you my… private spot? If you’re interested, let’s go there. We’ll find it in the Talos Plaza District – Lorkmir’s House specifically. This place is considered safe; players of Oblivion Remastered can eliminate Faelian at any time after we enter Lorkmir’s House, allowing them to complete the contract and meet the “The Lonely Wanderer” bonus conditions.

“The Lonely Wanderer” Quest Rewards & Bonus

To earn a substantial amount of Gold for slaying Faelian, you have Ocheeva’s approval. Yet, if you eliminate Faelian in a protected environment, players of the Oblivion Remastered game will also be rewarded with a unique artifact: Shadowhunt, an empowered bow that triggers four effects upon impact – it lessens health, depletes magicka, turns undead, and weakens targets to poison.

In the game “Oblivion Remastered,” Shadowhunt stands out as an incredibly potent Bow, particularly beneficial for Dark Brotherhood missions. If you’re considering a Ranger or Stealth Archer character setup, it’s worth the effort to acquire this Bow.

Additionally, you’ll gain access to another segment in the Dark Brotherhood storyline, offering you the opportunity to take on the “Bad Medicine” assignment. This task involves secretly replacing a Warlord’s medication with poison without being detected.
