Suits LA Success Fuels Hope for Royal Pains Reboot

After the massive comeback of Suits on Netflix, the USA Network series was able to launch a spinoff five years after its conclusion. The show, titled Suits LA , debuted on NBC in February according to their 2025 TV schedule, despite not receiving impressive ratings, there’s speculation it might be renewed. Furthermore, I find myself immersed in the legal world that this series presents once again. Now, another USA Network show is planning a reboot at NBC (and for the record, it’s not White Collar).

Royal Pains Is Getting Rebooted At NBC

A reboot of the dramedy Royal Pains is in the works at NBC, according to Deadline.

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, let me share my thoughts on the intriguing revival of the series “Royal Pains.” Originally gracing our screens from 2009 to 2016, spanning eight seasons and over a hundred episodes, this captivating tale was masterfully crafted by Andrew Lenchewski and John P. Rogers. The story revolves around Hank Lawson, an exceptional diagnostic surgeon unjustly maligned who finds himself transplanted to the glamorous Hamptons, where he takes up the role of a private doctor catering to the region’s affluent and influential residents.

Refreshingly, this series presents a unique premise that never fails to pique my interest, making it all the more enticing to see it return with a thrilling new angle.

In this new version, Mark Feuerstein will once again play Dr. Lawson and also serve as a producer. At the moment, none of the original cast members such as Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, Brooke D’Orsay, Ben Shenkman, Jill Flint, or Campbell Scott are confirmed to return, but circumstances may alter that in the future.

Lenchewski, previously involved as both writer and executive producer (EP) in the initial series, will be back to write and serve as an EP again, this time alongside Michael Rauch. Notably, Rauch was responsible for writing, directing, and serving as EP on the USA show. Rich Frank is also making a comeback as an EP for the reboot. The revival is set some years after the original storyline, with Hank seeking a fresh purpose in life as he embarks on his most ambitious project yet.

Why Suits LA Makes Me Cautiously Optimistic For This New Reboot

Given the achievement of both ‘Suits’ and its spin-off ‘Suits LA’, it’s no wonder that NBC might be interested in attempting another remake. As ‘Suits LA’ introduces an entirely fresh cast, spearheaded by Stephen Amell, and is set in a distinct city, it feels like a brand new series with hints of ‘Suits’ interwoven throughout.

In summary, it’s delightful to witness the revival of the franchise, particularly for enthusiasts of courtroom dramas. Moreover, the fact that the show’s originator, Aaron Korsh, is at the helm, along with some original Suits stars making comebacks, adds to the excitement. Additionally, the return of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter brought about significant surprises.

I’ve really been captivated by the fresh perspective on Suits and how it ties back to the initial series. Similarly, Royal Pains now has an opportunity to emulate this, as the original cast member Feuerstein and the creative team are rejoining the show.

As a film enthusiast myself, I’m thrilled to recommend Peacock TV! For just $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, you can dive into the newest shows from NBC and Bravo. From the alluring world of Suits LA to the intriguing mystery of Poker Face, not forgetting the legendary humor of Saturday Night Live. Don’t miss out on this fantastic deal!

I’m quite excited about the idea of Hank exploring a completely different setting while tackling fresh challenges that could tie back to the initial series.

In essence, whether successful or not, reboots, revivals, and spinoffs can vary in their outcome, regardless of the original show. Given that Feuerstein is at the helm of the Royal Pains reboot, which seems to be a continuation, this could potentially benefit the series. Yet, it would also be intriguing if they followed the approach of Suits LA, by introducing fresh characters as well.

Because the revival of “Royal Pains” is still in its early stages, it’s uncertain if it will indeed be produced as a series. If it does get produced, there might be a wait before it airs. Regrettably, the original show isn’t available for streaming on any platform. However, you can sample the USA Network to NBC transmission line by watching “Suits LA” on NBC or with a Peacock subscription.
