More than ten years since Beyoncé and Solange Knowles’ parents parted ways after thirty years of marriage, the founder of House of Deréon opened up about their present relationship dynamics.

Tina mentioned that they get along well due to their effective parenting, as expressed during the April 24th episode of the SIRIUSXM’s Gayle King in the House podcast. She put it, ‘We’ve been doing some fantastic work.’

She told Gayle King, “That was a while back,” referring to the past. “Time and again, I’ve made it clear that, indeed, there were some extremely challenging and painful periods with Matthew. However, I have never doubted his love for me or our children.

Often times, folks ask me, ‘How did you manage to stay together for so long?’ I shared with Gayle on CBS Mornings last April, ‘Well, I was married for a whopping 33 years, but let me tell you, they weren’t all tough. Sure, there were some challenging periods that lasted around 15 years, but we also had extended periods of happiness and prosperity.’

Well, let me tell you, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I read about it in her latest memoir titled “Matriarch”. You see, she revealed that she and Matthew, who later tied the knot with Gena Knowles in 2013, briefly reunited in 2010. This was after he shared that counseling had transformed him, and boy, I just can’t wait to learn more about their journey!

She stated, “I was well aware that my connection with Matthew wasn’t healthy, and it was the apprehension of facing things on my own that held me back.

However, in the long run, it proved wise for her to distance herself from Matthew, despite the challenges that came with being freshly divorced.

Earlier in my life, I struggled greatly with maintaining balance, neglecting self-care,” she shared with People this month, “but around age 50, I began to prioritize this aspect. After my divorce at 59, it became primarily about caring for and healing myself.

Reflecting on her life, she said, “It’s been quite a wild and unpredictable adventure – full of challenges, struggles, and hardships beyond measure, but also overflowing with immense joy. Looking back, I can honestly say it’s been one heck of a thrilling ride. There isn’t anything I’d give up to change it.
