‘We Will Give Our Utmost’: The Seven Deadly Sins Dev Delays PS5 Release to Make Improvements

The mobile game The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, based on the manga by Nakaba Suzuki, will now be released sometime in March instead of January 28th.

Netmarble delayed the game’s release after receiving feedback from a recent player test. They explained that while some issues were easy to fix, others needed more significant changes than just tweaking numbers.

Among the key areas for improvement identified by fans, it summarised the following:

Controls
Feedback that character handling felt somewhat unresponsive, and that movement and targeting were inconvenient.
Combat System
Feedback that the difficulty felt excessive, and that combat tempo and skill response speed were too slow.
UI/UX
Feedback that the menu structure was complex, making it difficult to find desired features intuitively.

The developer highlighted that players generally liked the game’s main features – specifically the visuals, story, and fighting – but felt more time was needed to make it even better and fully satisfy players.

It said in a statement:

We’re very sorry we couldn’t meet with you as planned in January. We’ll use these extra two months to prepare and make sure we can deliver the highest quality results when we do connect.

To be fair, we don’t think this is a particularly bad thing at all.

Arknights: Endfield will launch on January 22nd, making it a significant gacha game release for PS5 this month. And February is shaping up to be an incredibly busy month for new game releases as well.

Netmarble seems sure they can improve the game while it’s delayed by listening to player feedback, ultimately delivering a better experience.
