Classic Anime Makes Epic Return to Toonami After 10 Years—Don’t Miss the New Episodes!

I’ve been eagerly waiting, and it seems my wait is about to end! A timeless action anime series that initially aired over a decade ago will soon be airing new episodes on Toonami. You see, Toonami’s lineup often gets reshuffled, and the next big change is happening next month with some fresh shows joining the mix. While fans have been relishing Blue Exorcist‘s first season thanks to its comeback late last Fall, this anime originally debuted on Toonami way back in 2014. But this time around, it looks like Blue Exorcist is finally going to venture beyond that initial season.

Initially, only the first season of Blue Exorcist aired on Toonami when it first launched in 2014. However, they’ve recently announced on their official Facebook page that Blue Exorcist Season 2 will start airing with the block from May 17th at 1:00AM ET. This marks the premiere of Blue Exorcist -Kyoto Saga- on Toonami, meaning longtime fans who’ve been following the show through the anime block can now watch the next installment of this ongoing series.

What to Know for Blue Exorcist Season 2

Looking back now, it’s quite surprising that “Blue Exorcist -Kyoto Saga-” is finally set to air on Toonami, as it sparked a lot of debate among fans when it initially came out in Japan in 2017 due to its unique approach compared to the original manga series by Kazue Kato. This difference in direction divided fans, and now Toonami viewers will get their first taste of this storyline for themselves. However, it’s also a significant milestone for the “Blue Exorcist” anime franchise as a whole since the release of the second season, there was little to no activity until now.

It wasn’t until early in the previous year that the new season of “Blue Exorcist” began, focusing on the Shimane Illuminati Saga. This third season paved the way for a swift debut of the fourth season, which has since been divided into two parts. The Beyond the Snow Saga was shown late last year, while the first half of the season, The Blue Night Saga, premiered earlier this year. With the second season now airing on Toonami, there’s a possibility that other seasons might follow suit and join the lineup next.
