Tragedy and Joy Collide: TikTok Star Okay Baby’s Grandpa Denies Police’s Death Claims

Preston Ordone’s grandfather is speaking out.

Following the Louisiana State Police Department’s confirmation of the 2-year-old TikTok sensation’s death on April 24, his grandfather is challenging the department’s statement that Preston, also known as Okay Baby, was not securely fastened in a child safety seat. Instead, he claims that Preston was properly restrained.

Glen Norris, being Katelynn Ordone’s father and Jaelan Ordone’s father-in-law – who were both hurt in the tragic incident – claimed that a bystander who arrived at the scene of the accident stated that the toddler was securely fastened in his safety seat.

On April 25, Glen shared with NOLA.com that a witness had informed him that when he took Preston out of the car, the toddler was securely fastened in his seat. Additionally, Glen expressed that the police’s statements were both distressing and difficult for him.

Initial investigations by the Louisiana Police Department suggest that Katelynn and Jaelan’s 2011 Ford F-150 swerved off the road and collided with a tree around 11:50 a.m. in St. Tammany Parish, which is roughly 50 miles north of New Orleans. Both Katelynn and Jaelan were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment and are currently recovering. Unfortunately, Preston succumbed to severe injuries at the hospital.

TopMob News contacted the Louisiana State Police seeking their response regarding Glen’s accusations, however, they have yet to respond.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clarify something important regarding accident reports. When we gather data about these incidents during our preliminary investigations, it’s never with the intention of shaming those involved. Our focus is on understanding the facts and learning from each event to make our communities safer.

In a statement from April 25th, it was clarified that we don’t carry out actions with the purpose of causing discomfort, distress, or frustration. Instead, our aim is always to uphold our duty within the information era, not to intensify suffering but to maintain transparency and accountability. The Louisiana State Police are obliged, when legally necessitated, to respond to media and public inquiries, ensuring that these exchanges are conducted with openness and responsibility.

On April 27th, family members posted a TikTok video to announce that young Paisley Ordone, aged 7 and daughter of Katleynn and Jaelan, was at school when the unfortunate accident occurred.

Following Preston’s death, his family reflected on the toddler’s internet presence.

Carson Matranga expressed, “He was always able to bring joy and laughter to those around him, and everyone eagerly awaited his daily presence.” Speaking of him, he must be enjoying some fun in heaven, maybe even leaping and dancing in the hypothetical mud. He might as well be sprinting along the golden streets, perhaps wearing his overalls, now transformed into gold. We’ll surely miss him dearly.

On December 27, 2022, the proud parents of Paisley Ordone announced the arrival of their newborn son, Preston.

Katelynn posted on Facebook, expressing her eagerness to bring him home. She also expressed gratitude for all the prayers offered by everyone.

2025’s Easter found me immersed in a sugar-filled feast, a spiritual journey at our beloved house of worship, and a refreshing dip in the pool – pure bliss! I couldn’t resist marking the occasion with a simple yet heartfelt exclamation, “Happy Easter!

At the age of seven, Paisley cherishes the companionship of her little brother. As she looks back at Preston’s daring personality, it appears that his adventurous traits were inherited from his elder sister, Katelynn.

On Instagram, March 8th, a mother of two playfully commented, “My older daughter was just as wild at her current age. That’s why there’s a five-year gap between them, and thankfully, she’s become slightly less wild as she’s grown up.

In a TikTok video posted in August 2024, Katelynn instructed Preston, saying, “Wait for Lovie a minute, alright?” Upon agreeing with his mother (“Alright”), the toddler promptly dove into the swimming pool.

User’s comment: “He always responds fine to it, but he continues to leap regardless,”

“We’re still struggling to understand what ‘OK’ means to him.

Preston adored the swimming pool, yet his affection for mud ran deeper. For countless hours, he delighted in jumping into and playing with muddy puddles right outside their residence.

According to Carson Matranga, who shared the sad news about his unexpected passing on April 27, he might be joyfully leaping and twirling in some celestial mud up in heaven.

As a devoted admirer, I’d eagerly await Katelynn’s posts featuring “Preston Interviews” on social media platforms. She’d often engage Preston in conversations about food, and ask intriguing questions to delve deeper into his personal life.

His favorite song? “Baby” by Justin Bieber, which he went on to sing.

Reflection on the Grinch: “He’s quite a nasty character, Mr. Grinch. I feel like I could give him a good stern talking-to because he seems rather intimidating.
